Area Agency on Aging Programs and Services The Area Agency on Aging of Deep East Texas is part of a network of 670 Area Agencies on Aging nationwide and one of 28 in the State of Texas dedicated to addressing the needs of older adults and their caregivers. The Area Agency on Aging invests federal Older Americans Act funds to areas of documented need and develops financial agreements with local agencies to provide services to people age 60 and older on a contribution basis. CARE COORDINATION - CASE MANAGEMENT CONGREGATE MEALS AT SENIOR CENTERS HOME DELIVERED MEALS INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE REFERRAL LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM OUTREACH - LEGAL AWARENESS BENEFIT COUNSELING LEGAL ASSISTANCE Certified Benefits Counselors provide accurate relevant information regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Disability, Veteran's Benefits, Railroad Retirement, Medigap Supplement Insurance, HMO's, Long-Term Care Insurance, COBRA, Advance Directives, Money Management, Discrimination, Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Immigration Issues, Consumer Issues, Entitlement Programs, Utility Assistance, Prescription Assistance Programs, Teacher's Retirement, Fraud and Scams. The Area Agency on Aging provides Benefits Counseling services to those 60+, as well as those who are otherwise eligible for Medicare.
