24 Hour National Domestic Violence Hotline
TDD 1-800-787-3224 The Hotline is provided by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services and managed by the Texas Council on Family Violence Services to victims of family violence are provided through contracts with family violence centers located throughout Texas. The shelter centers provide temporary shelter and nonresident services for victims of family violence and their children. The nonresidential centers provide the same services, except shelter, for victims. To be eligible for services, a client must be physically, emotionally, or sexually abused by a partner, former partner, or another family or household member. Information and referral also is available for the batterer. Services for victims of family violence include:
  • Temporary 24-hour-a-day shelter 24-hour hotline Information and referral to other services Legal advocacy Counseling Assistance in obtaining medical care Emergency transportation Information about training for and seeking employment
