How to Qualify for Teacher Licensure
The Praxis Series: Professional Assessments for Beginning Teachers . These tests are available in paper-based or computer-based formats. Licensure will require satisfactory completion of the Praxis II: Subject Assessments, the second component of The Praxis Series. Required tests include the Principles of Learning and Teaching, Subject Assessment, and Specialty Area tests. See below for a complete listing of required tests.
Who Must Take the Tests
Candidates pursuing alternate routes for licensure must satisfy the same testing requirements as candidates in the traditional program. Exemption from testing is available if a candidate held a full teaching license prior to July 1, 1984, or holds a valid license from a reciprocal state where requirements have been met.

The name of this organization is the Tennessee Education Technology Association (TETA) consisting of the following founding Chapters, East Tennessee Education Technology Association (ETETA), Middle Tennessee Education Technology Association (MTETA), and West Tennessee Education Technology Association (WTETA).

The School of Nursing provides educational programs to meet the needs of prospective students and for nurses who wish to advance their careers. The nursing programs are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and are approved by the TN Board of Nursing. AAS in Nursing The Associate of Applied Science Degree Program (AAS) is designed to prepare nurses who can assess patient needs, develop a plan of care, implement the plan of care skillfully, and evaluate the effectiveness of the care give. Care is provided to clients with commonly occurring illnesses in a variety of setting. The program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC; 61 Broadway, New York, NY, 100006; 1-8000-669-1656).
