This book really is awesome! This is one of my favorite books! I do enjoy "real" literature, novels, and that sort of thing don't get me wrong. I just think that this is written very well and it's extremely hilarious. You find out stuff about these guys that you've never known before. For example, did you know QT really couldn't write? He signs his name with an X! Never before seen pictures of all the guys (ever wonder what Doug's high school yearbook pic looked like?) are included, too. A little bit of old skool Whoa! is in here as well. If you ever watched 2Gether, this is a great book to have! Besides, it's cheap enough. Give it a shot. Or else Chad will cry. Anthology of Awesomeness is well, awesome, to say the least The 2gether scrapbook is everything it should be, a collection of pictures, and hilarious stories as told by the 2gether members themselves. Find out interesting things you definitely NEVER knew about 2gether. I guarentee it. Im considered the queen of 2gether knowledge and I learned over 50 new things about the group while reading this book!! Must have for the 2gether fan. Miss out on this, you're missing out on everything!

Columbia, PA USA - Wednesday, December 30, 1998 at 01:20:48 (EST) I would advise everyone who enjoys the music of Leroy Anderson (and who doesn't?) to purchase the original cast album of his musical GOLDILOCKS before it goes out of print (if it hasn't already). It's available over the internet via CDNOW (www.cdnow.com) and CDUNIVERSE (www.cduniverse.com); I just got my copy, and it's an absolute delight. The music is Anderson at his best (which is saying a lot), the lyrics are quite witty, and the performancesby Elaine Stritch, Don Ameche, Pat Stanley, and Russell Nypeare great. My only regret is that I waited so long to buy it. I've also seen the script for GOLDILOCKS, and while it has its flaws, it's quite funny and certainly could be made to work with the right actors. If there's a forgotten show that deserves a revival, this is it.

Opinion
Blood, sweat and revision
While I wait for my GCSE results I can read the hype about how useless they are
Sam Wetherell
Tuesday August 19, 2003
The Guardian

After two years of coursework, homework and pretty much every other kind of work possible, followed by months of blood, sweat and revision, followed - finally - by the fear and tears of the GCSE exams themselves, I can sit back and await the crushing disappointment of finding out on Thursday that I didn't do that well after all. But as it turns out, according to most of the country's media, it was all a big waste of time anyway. And it was easy, apparently. Sitting in a very hot exam room, eyes streaming with hayfever, trying to write coherently about the Liberal health reforms at the turn of the century (something I didn't even know was part of the GCSE syllabus until a week before the exam) is too easy, they say. But last year around 5% of all GCSE students failed to pass a single exam.

Conclusions: A recent workshop (see attached trip report) on distance learning, attended by experts from three continents, supports several conclusions about the status of distance learning:
  • Rapid Growth : open universities and distance learning are growing extremely rapidly in academia, business, and government; Driving Factors : several factors drive the rapid growth of distance learning, among them the rapid pace of technological change and increased dependence of modern work on technology, the need for continuous learning in the workplace, increased availability of the means for economical mass dissemination of educational materials, and the need for new forms of education; Primitive, Evolving Tools : computer-based authoring courseware and multimedia tools are becoming available to support the development of distance learning materials, but there are few or no tools available for curriculum management or the administration of the virtual university, and today the technology infrastructure to support distance learning and open universities is akin to the status of software development environments over a decade ago: diffuse, primitive, handmade, and dependent on experienced guides and consultants; Pre-scientific Foundations

    American English Institute
The American English Institute (AEI), which has been a university program for more than 20 years, is designed to prepare international students for American university studies by offering instruction in English as a second language. Students receive 20 hours of instruction each week but do not earn academic credit. Qualified students earn a certificate of completion at the end of each session. During each session, up to 120 international students enroll at the institute. Students have come from more than 25 different countries.
Admission Requirements and Application Procedure. Applicants must be older than 17 years of age. Applicants should be motivated to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing of English. They should be prepared to attend classes every day and to do homework regularly. Interested students should call or write to the institute to obtain application forms. After completed application forms have been submitted along with an application fee, students will receive I-20s. Since processing and mailing of the I-20s takes time, students should apply at least six weeks before the session begins. For further information, call or send a FAX to

    To Guide Entry
“I am a Navajo,” Chee said. “ . . . Some Navajos are good at tracking. Some aren’t. You learn it by studying it. Like law.” These words of Jim Chee, a Navajo tribal policeman, pertain to the two main themes of this unit, the elements of mystery and ethnicity. The use of the word “tracking” is an explicit reference to a method used in solving a mystery; there is an implicit reference that we assume characteristics about certain ethnic groups and fall into the error of stereotyping them. This unit will combine the disciplines of an English and a social science course by teaching about the modern American mystery novel and about some special types of people involved in specific novels. Profiles of many of our high school students show that they have dropped out or been withdrawn for poor attendance or lack of interest and success in school; some others manage to hang on for a few years but repeatedly fail mandatory subjects such as English and Social Studies. Some of these failing students do lack the skills necessary for academic progress, but others are just not impelled to perform at the skill level that they possess. For these students alternatives to the boredom and low self-esteem might be street crime, pregnancy, and eventually dropping out of school.

Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor LALIBELA, ETHIOPIA HOMEWORK TIME: In Harar, in the eastern, more-Muslim region of Ethiopia, friends head home from school. Efforts are under way to educate more Ethiopian girls; male students outnumber them 2 to 1.
MARJORIE COEYMAN Hindi is a bright-eyed 10-year-old in northern Ethiopia just outside the city of Lalibela. Her clothes are ragged and her shoes are scuffed, but nothing dims her pride in her well-worn school notebook, filled with page after page of neatly printed English vocabulary and grammar exercises. "I love to learn English," she says with a shy smile. For the Ethiopian government, a girl like Hindi is a harbinger of hope. Although she lives in a rural setting where access to school is often limited, she has made it to the fifth grade. In addition, she is progressing nicely with her studies and she wants to stay in school. But Hindi is not representative of the majority of girls in this sub-Saharan nation. Only 51 percent of Ethiopia's children make it as far as the fifth grade. And of all the children that do attend school in the country, only about a third are girls.

We will commence with an interpretation of texts on the Logic, Category and Topics of Aristotle. Then there will be presentations on Descarte, Vico and Kant. Following that, we will have classes in which we will all together interpret texts, thereby dealing with the dialectical-historical method of the Modern Age (Hegel, Marx). During the last third of the term there will be presentations on hermeneutics, and on the foundations of the empirical-analytical method.
