Geography and Climate
Sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Africa, the country has magnificent mountain scenery with unique, ancient rock formations which are a source of fascination for geologists and scholars. Within the small area each feature of Africa's terrain is to be found, with the exception of desert. Swaziland is made up of four diverse areas, varying from 400 to 1800 meters above sea level, and each with its own climate and characteristics. The mountainous Highveld to the west has rivers, waterfalls and gorges with a generally temperate climate of warm, wet summers and dry winters when the temperature can rise sharply during the day, but with cold nights. The adjacent Middleveld is at a lower altitude with lush, fertile valleys and a warm climate ideal for cultivating various crops. It is here that much of the country's agriculture occurs.

Geography and Climate
Swaziland's geography is very diverse, varying from mountains to low-lying savanna, with a matching diversity in climate and vegetation.
Culture and tradition
The Kingdom of Swaziland is old and incredibly varied, its friendly and cheerful people retaining belief in the traditional rituals and ceremonies while adapting to a modern lifestyle. It is Africa's last traditional kingdom, the endurance of the monarchy giving the country its unique character. Links: National Museum Swazi Cultural Village
Scenic drives
Numerous interesting crafts are to be found in the making along many of the scenic drives. Visits can also be arranged to traditional Swazi homesteads, sangomas (traditional healers), and traditional Swazi dancing can be seen at the Swazi Cultural Village, in Mantenga Nature Reserve, about 40 kms from the hotel.
Golf
The Usuthu Golf Course adjoins our estate, and golf clubs are available for hire. The Royal Swazi Spa 18 hole championship golf course is situated in the Ezulwini Valley, about 37 km from the Foresters Arms. Information on the other golf courses in Swaziland is available on request. Links: Nature Reserves Big Game Parks
Wildlife
Swaziland's game reserves are small and uncrowded. Here one can get close to nature and see many of the smaller species of birds and animals which are often overlooked in the larger game parks, as well as the better known animals. The Foresters Arms Hotel is ideally situated for exploring all the attractions of this majestic Kingdom, and tours can be arranged on your arrival.
