School districts are always looking for good substitute teachers. Most districts will accept substitute teachers with only bachelor's degrees in any area, not just education. For recent college graduates, retirees, or for those temporarily out of the work force, subbing can be a rewarding experience, in terms of not only making money but in contributing to your local community in a vital role. This web page contains links to specific information, district by district, needed to find and apply for substitute teaching in grades K-12 in Cuyahoga county (Cleveland, Ohio). To help keep the students busy , these pages contain web resources such as lesson plans and educational games. To keep them safe (and yourself sane), we also include classroom management tips and sources of peer support through mailing lists and discussion boards. This page also features a "Music and Technology" survey that you can print out and use in classrooms as a way to find out what your students like in music, and what types of technology they use. This can be useful in building rapport with your students, especially if you don't have contact with them or their age bracket on a regular basis. If you use the "Register" link, we'll compile a results page soon so you can see what kinds of music, web sites and technology students of various ages are using these days!

For current information, please call the district offices. Substitute Teachers and Paraprofessionals Substitutes are an important educational component in the Moorhead Area Public Schools. Teachers and paraprofessionals occasionally need a substitute for either professional or personal reasons. Principals, teachers, parents and students value a good substitute teacher or paraprofessional. Skilled substitute teachers and paraprofessionals can have a significant, positive impact on the quality of education while the permanent teacher or paraprofessional is away. To ensure that the district has a large pool of qualified substitutes available, the Human Resources office continually recruits substitute teachers and paraprofessionals. The district uses the automated Substitute Employee Management System (SEMS) to contact substitutes who have registered with the system about available positions. District employees enter their absences in the SEMS so employee leave records can be maintained, substitutes can be called, and substitute pay can be determined.
