Longmans, Green. 1929. Dean Bradley famously rewrote Arnold's book. The first 170 pages introduce the art of composition, with a particular strength in directing the student to a real understanding of the English original. As a result, this book is a very valuable tool for education. There are 144 long proses which appear in the Key
Longmans Green. 1958. A great standby to answer all questions and give wholly practical help with literary English to be put into correct and idiomatic Latin. This revision has 125 proses at the back, and all exercises are dealt with in the new Key (1949): the extra proses are turned by five first-rate scholars and experienced teachers, all gifted and most stylish writers of Latin.
H. J. Dakers. Rivingtons. 1962. 150 pages of introduction cover all Latin syntax. The idioms involving prepositions are more fully discussed than in all other books we have seen. Over 170 proses follow this with clues and references to the introduction. The Key is excellent. Correct grammar, rather than style, is, we believe, the chief object of this big book.

Word: Word Starts with Ends with Definition An English writing style is a way of using the English language. The style of a piece of writing is the way in which features of the language are used to convey meaning, typically but not always within the constraints of more widely accepted conventions of grammar and spelling. An individual's writing style may be a very personal thing. Organizations that employ writers or commission written work from individuals may require that writers conform to a standardized style defined by the organization. This allows a consistent readability of composite works produced by many authors, and promotes usability of, for example, references to other cited works. In many kinds of professional writing aiming for effective transfer of information, adherence to a standardised style of writing helps readers make sense of what the writer is presenting. Many standardised styles are documented in style guides A style guide (often called a style manual ) is a work aiming to set out rules for writers. In such works

Abstract
Introduction
Both the popular press ( Tannen, 1994 ) and research studies ( Herring, 1994 ) have noted both the increased use of networked computers and the relationship between gender and language in computer mediated communication (CMC). Such examination is timely since more and more emphasis is being placed on CMC in education and in the workplace. Additionally, the Internet, the current version of the "Information Superhighway", dominates predictions of a truly "networked nation" ( ) in which far flung participants can interact with information and with each other overcoming barriers of time and geography. Historically, CMC has been a male dominated domain ( Herring, 1994

English 1301: Composition and Rhetoric Departmental Master Course Syllabus This course is a Blinn College Core Curriculum Course. Revised Spring Overview: Purpose and Process in the Teaching of Writing The basic objective of any first-semester writing course is to teach students to express their thoughts in clear, effective, logical prose. Because of the complementary relationship between clear writing and clear thinking, the more purely rhetorical skills are taught along with and in the context of analytical skills in order to prepare students for success in a second-semester freshman composition course, all sophomore English courses, and any other writing-intensive course. At the end of the course, students should understand how to approach a writing assignment in terms of formulating a purpose and ascertaining an audience, and they should know how to develop a writing persona and a focus appropriate to that purpose and audience. These decisions establish a writer's rhetorical stance. In addition to understanding the rhetorical situation, students should also have enough training in logical skills to determine the validity of inductive generalizations, both those they make and those they read in others' writings, and to be able to analyze and argue from deductive premises.
