  • The program covers all academic levels.
  • Students are employed in positions directly related to their educational program and career goals and are appointed as Student Trainees.
  • Appointments may be made at any time during the year.
  • A written agreement must be developed between NSF and the school, outlining the responsibilities of all parties.
  • Student may attend school and work on parallel or alternating work schedules.
  • Verification of student status is required before appointment and at the beginning of each new semester (i.e., transcript, report card, or proof of registration for the next semester).
  • Students may be non-competitively converted to a career or career-conditional appointment after graduation, providing they have worked at least 640 hours under the program, and meet all academic and position qualification requirements.
  • Students are eligible for all civil service benefits.
  • Appointments may be made at the GS-3 through GS-11 grade levels, depending on qualifications.

DO Graduate Student Intern Work Schedule: Full Time Salary: $29,500 to $32,700 Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area CIA internships are highly competitive. Minimum requirements include an excellent academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA), with a strong interest in international affairs and solid interpersonal and communications skills. Foreign language proficiency, prior residency abroad and military experience are preferred. Please apply at least six months prior to your desired start date. Assistance is available for students who need help finding housing. All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required. To Apply: Note: Multiple submissions are unnecessary and will slow the processing of your resume. Of course, if you made an error in your submission or need to update your resume, you may submit another resume. The second resume will overwrite the first.
