SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
FOR FIRST AND SECOND YEAR LAW STUDENTS
In 2004 the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) will sponsor the Summer Internship Program for first and second year law students. PILI will provide dozens of internships at public interest law agencies in the Chicago metropolitan area. The program is open to law students from across the country. The stipend for 10 weeks work is $4,500.00. PILI ensures quality supervision by experienced lawyers at the agencies, and provides a lunch-time educational program. The program seeks to have law students work at and learn about legal institutions serving the public interest, and to engender a life-long participation in public interest law. Purchasing Frederik and Lena Meijer Student Internship Program The 2004 Summer Internship Program is designed to allow college students an opportunity to be mentored by professionals in their chosen field, use state-of-the-art equipment and technology, and learn valuable interpersonal and presentation skills. There will be 5-10 internships depending on the needs of the Scientific Investigators. During the internship, students will gain an understanding of research methods, instruments and testing procedures, and how test results contribute to a larger research project. They will assist an Investigator and/or designee to resolve problems in the execution of experiments. Our goal is that they will understand and properly perform, recognize, and record established experimental procedures. At the end of the internship program, students will give an oral presentation about their experience to the research staff. Minimum Eligibility Requirements: College students must have completed at least one year (equivalent to 24 credit hours) and be enrolled in a science-related degree program and have at least a 3.0 GPA.

What's a PDF? HGCI Programs Student Internship Program
This summer the Harvard Green Campus Initiative is conducting its second Student Internship Program. This round of internships will build on last year's highly successful programs by continuing to implement and disseminate last year's project recommendations while also pursing additional project focus areas in collaboration with new faculty and department sponsors. Summer 2002
This year, we have nine interns working with different Schools and Departments to research a wide range of projects including alternative fuel vehicles, environmental procurement, lighting efficiency, building system performance, pesticides reduction and construction and demolition waste recycling. The HGCI has continued its success in finding sponsors, defining innovative intern work plans in consultation with sponsors, recruiting talented interns, managing projects, and documenting and disseminating internship findings.
