Biology at Boston University is a broadly-based department with faculty interested in biological problems at the molecular, organismal, and population levels. Thus we have a rare strength in addressing questions at all organizational levels of Biology and in ways that combine our knowledge in these areas. The Department has five graduate program areas: Ecology, Behavior and Evolution; Physiology, Endocrinology and Reproduction; Neurobiology; Cell and Molecular Biology; and Marine Biology. Each program area has unique strengths and suggested curricula. The Department offers both master's and doctoral degrees in Biology that emphasize independent research on the part of the student, and a nonresearch master's degree. Many Biology faculty participate in an interdepartmental programs that offers graduate degrees in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry , and in Neuroscience The undergraduate program leading to the B.A. degree in Biology combines both a breadth of education and training in Biology and the opportunity to concentrate in one of these areas: Cell and Molecular Biology; Physiology, Endocrinology and Reproduction; Marine Biology; Neurobiology; or Ecology, Behavior and Evolution.

    171. Sociology Major - Research And Internships - Contemporary Social Issues
Course offerings, major requirements, faculty listings, and internship information.
    http://www.hollins.edu/undergrad/sociology/soc.htm
Undergraduate Programs At Hollins, sociology begins with an interest in people: how we cope; how society influences our behavior; how, together or as individuals, we preserve or change the social order. The study of sociology develops a deeper understanding of the world in which we live and provides a foundation that can lead to a variety of interesting careers.
The Hollins sociology curriculum explores broad social questions and issues. In classes and in the field, you'll consider such questions as: How does society work? How does it affect the individual? How can individuals and groups initiate positive personal and social change?
All majors select a specialized concentration of courses and complete a common core of foundation studies in the history, research methods, and theoretical perspectives of the discipline. In classes and internships, students have opportunities to apply sociological concepts and methods of inquiry to contemporary issues and social problems.
Test the Career Waters with Hands-on Internships Internships, an integral part of a Hollins University education, will give you entrees into careers. Most students do internships, particularly during the January Short Term. Recent internship sites have included:

Since then the author has moved to Rochester, NY and can no longer maintain the FVFD site. Since this site provided information both about the department, and local businesses and the town, I have moved the FVFD site to the link above and changed this page to include local links to the Foxburg area. The main reason for keeping the site up is that the traffic on this site is 300-400 visits per month. Please e-mail iadams@rochester.rr.com if you would like your link added.
