For this pictures many thanks to Mihai Botez the General Secretary of the Romanian Federation of Speology, and to Cristian Lascu, the Author. Go here to see more and learn about what Earth created in it's deepest and darkest galleries "...The Romanian Speleological Federation R S F ) was founded on May 28, 1994 when the Central Commission of Speleology, the Romanian Society of Speleology and Karstology, the Transylvanian Speleological Society, the Speleological Society of Banat and the Group for Underwater and Cave Exploration joined into a single organization.
In 1920, the Romanian scientist Emil Racovita established in Cluj the first Speleological Institute in the world. Through the years, this spurred increasing interest in scientific research focussed on biospeleology and other related branches, as well as "underground world" exploration. Dozens of speleological clubs appeared resulting the exploration of more than 12,000 caves.
In 1972 the Romanian cavers were gathered into a national forum called "Speosport". Since than, this became an annual event, organized by the Central Commission of Speleology. In 1990 the speleological clubs created several confederate structures. Finally, the common passion for the underground world has lead to the creation of the Romanian Speleological Federation in 1994.

While dealing primarily with the Minneapolis-St. Paul (Twin Cities), Minnesota area, which has a unique spelean resource, I hope to expand the coverage to other areas over time.  Some of the places described are freely accessible to the general public, while others require permission. I do not conduct tours nor do I run a club, so I must regretfully decline the numerous requests I receive to take people on trips. TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR OF BASSETT CREEK A photo sequence of Minneapolis' famous subterranean stream. Do alligators really live there? ATOMIC BOMB CAVE SURVEY
In the early 1960s, the local firm TKDA surveyed the caves of the Twin Cities for suitability as fallout shelters. In many cases, the resulting maps are the only maps of of the caves available. I plan to place some of the more interesting samples of the draftsman's art on-line, but here is an example from West St. Paul, the so-called Lyman Brown Cave, rated to hold 1774 persons in the case of nuclear catastrophe. Would you be one of the lucky few? THE SMUGGLER'S CAVE PROJECT
We have recently embarked on the exploration of yet another cave in the Fort Road Labyrinth. We were the first to explore Stahlmann's Cellars, in the 1990s, but this cave was more of a challenge. Take a voyage beyond the microbial veil and the insane boredom of everyday life.

    EN 12275 INSTRUCTIONS :

These instructions are for the use of SIMOND and LAPRADE snap hooks:
These articles require no special upkeep, but their mechanisms should be lubricated from time to time to ensure proper operation. If they are used in salt or aggressive environment, it is essential to clean them to avoid oxidation. CLEANING AND LUBRICATING :
Wash the products in water with a very gentle and neutral detergent, rinse in clear water and dry away from direct source of heat. If the finger closing mechanism loses its flexibility, it is recommended to clean it with a product like petroleum, dry it and apply a suitable lubricant.
Remove all trace of the lubricant with a cloth on the outside of the mechanism. STORAGE : Store the equipment in a cool dry place away from light. If the equipment comes into contact with chemical products, their characteristics may be deteriorated and so it is recommended to eliminate them.
