  • Peer Education Programs For Teens Teen Council
    is a youth development program for teens ages 15 (sophomore in high school) through 19 in Duluth, Rochester and the Twin Cities Metro Area. It incorporates comprehensive curriculum-based sexuality education, peer education and service learning to train highly motivated teens to act as role models, make educational presentations to students in middle and high schools, and participate in related community service projects.     Telephone: (202) 225-4527 Boehner Hails South Dakota Education Officials for Commitment to Education Reform South Dakota Receives ED Approval for No Child Left Behind Accountability Plan WASHINGTON, D.C. Terri Rayburn, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental and Interagency Affairs at the U.S. Department of Education, joined South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds and South Dakota Interim Secretary Thomas Hawley at the Teacher Leadership 2003 Superintendent’s Meeting in Pierre to announce that the department has approved South Dakota’s NCLB accountability plan. The No Child Left Behind legislation, which passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress, requires every state to outline specific steps for ensuring adequate yearly progress in reading and math for public school students. South Dakota now becomes the thirtieth state to gain plan approval.
