BHSU to host Space Days 2004 SPEARFISH — Black Hills State University will host the South Dakota/ NASA Space Days 2004 Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, in Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center parking lot. Space Days 2004 is free for schools and the public and offers an opportunity for teachers and their classes to experience many exhibits on Earth science, space science and technology, including "hands-on" activities. The event will include StarLab Planetarium shows, a NASA International Space Station Trailer Exhibit, and a keynote presentation by Ed Gibson, a former NASA astronaut who lives in South Dakota. Gibson will speak at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Robert Polcyn, a South Dakota solar system ambassador and amateur astronomer, will present "Mars Mania" at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday and at 10 a.m. Saturday. Ron Dyvig, director of Badlands Observatory in Quinn, will speak about the observatory telescope, astronomical research and educational opportunities at the observatory.
