AP Toll Says 1,361 Iraqis Killed in April
Victims young and old, women and men, insurgents and innocents have been piling up day by day, making April the deadliest month for Iraqis and Americans since the fall of Saddam Hussein a year ago. The daily carnage, seen by Iraqis before their own eyes and in bloody images and photos transmitted around the country by Arab television and Iraqi newspapers, has heightened anti-U.S. sentiment across the country even when the deaths were caused by insurgent attacks.

The Making of America From the Colonies to the Civil War
Trip #32785 Sail the Eastern Seaboard on an epic voyage from Canada's Maritime Provinces to New England, Chesapeake Bay, and the Antebellum South. Discover areas of spectacular beauty and rich nautical heritage, with waterfronts that are a mixture of boatyards, wharves, and shops. Visit historic cities, such as Boston, where evidence of the American Revolution and our Colonial heritage abounds around every corner. Experience some of America's earliest and favorite resort towns, after the summer crowds have left but the weather is still warm. Enjoy "Southern hospitality" as you stroll along cobblestone streets lined with moss-draped oaks and well-groomed gardens.

For more than two decades, Atlantic City has been known the world over as a first-rate casino-gaming mecca. Today, 37 million people visit "America's Favorite Playground" each year. With 12 casino resorts, more than seven miles of white sandy beaches, and the famous 4.5-mile-long Boardwalk (the very first in the world), the Greater Atlantic City Region is riding high on a wave of excitement.
And there is much more to the region than glamour, glitz, surf and sand. You can tour three vineyards, test your skill at the region's 23 golf courses, see Miss America crowned every year in September, or munch on saltwater taffy where it was first made. And don't forget about our museums. Art lovers and history enthusiasts can peruse the collections at the Atlantic City Art Center and Historical Museum on Garden Pier at the Boardwalk. The Noyes Museum of Art is well known for its vast collection of American fine art and folk art, vintage bird decoys, and outstanding traveling exhibitions.
But if it's hidden treasures you crave, the Greater Atlantic City Area has got them in spades. There are plenty of new and different activities to be a part of, thanks to extensive restoration and building. Be one of the first to visit Historic Absecon Lighthouse, which has once again opened its doors to visitors following a two-year restoration project to appear as it did in 1925.
