General Information
THE SKI AREA
Our ski area located in the Interior Mountain of British Columbia can be described as the heart of heli-skiing, and Glacier National Park, CMH Gothics, Adamants, Revelstoke, Galena, Great Canadian and Purcell Heli-skiing, Golden. We ski in two major mountia ranges, the Moashees to the west and the Selkiriks to the east of Revelstoke. Both Mountain Ranges are noted for reliable powder snow condtions and great terrian. We have established over 200 major runs with countless variations and it is uncommon to ski new runs.
Altitude
Most of our skiing takes place below 3,00 meters (9,850 ft.). Due to the geographical location of our mountains and the climatic condtions, excellent snow is common from top to bottom without having to go to elevations where altitudes may become a problem.
Fitness To enjoy heli - skiing you should be in reasonable shape. We recommend that you engage in some kind of exercise program eight to ten weeks prior to your trip. It stands to reason that the fitter you are the better you will be able to handle the skiing challenges, and the less likely it will be for you get hurt.
Skiing Ability If you are a strong intermidate skier in a regular ski area you should be able to adapt quickly to deep snow skiing. Most of our guides are also ski instructors and will give you helpful tips. It might be of further help to you to try a pair of our specially selected rental skis suitable for these snow conditions. As well, we will do our best to put you in with a group of similar skiig ability.

Kinosoo Ridge Ski Area
News Flash - We are now open for the 2003-04 season! All the staff at Kinosoo would like to extend an invitation for all to come to the
hill to check out our great facility, Christmas Camps, and terrain park. While we have been having fun with our water line breaks and snowmaking interruptions,
we are nearing the end of snowmaking and will be soon into the full season! Let's hope
for lots of natural snow to help us along and we'll see you on the slopes!
Located 12 km east of Cold Lake , Kinosoo Ridge has served as north eastern Alberta's premiere downhill ski facility for over 15 years. Overlooking the south shore of Cold Lake, Kinosoo Ridge offers a unique choice to skiers as they reach the top of the hill - Saskatchewan to the left, Alberta to the right! It is a full service ski area with all of the amenities of the larger mountain resorts, without the larger mountain prices! Come see for yourself what everyone is talking about!
As for skiing terrain, Kinosoo's triple chair, T-bar and Handle Tow service over 10 runs of varied skiing ability. Many runs are fully lit for night skiing and most are serviced by our improved snowmaking capabilities thus ensuring great snow conditions for the entire season. The recent development and expansion of a snowscaped terrain park for snowboarders has increased the challenge and usability of the ski area. The chalet features a full service kitchen and cafeteria capable of handling large crowds or group catering. A fully licensed lounge offers the perfect spot to relax after a day (or night) on the slopes. With a menu and prices that reflect Kinosoo's dedication to service and value, it's the perfect family outing.

Subtle differences in spending habits are apparent and money does not flow as freely as it once did. To be fair this is the trend all over the alps. But it is here that one spends a heck of a lot of time (by choice) and it is here that one sees the change most. Pockets are shallower now and the throaty roar of the revving Porsche engine is much less a part of the scene.
Now, with the addition of an excellent 18-hole golf course in Reith just outside town, added to its many summer is taking on the persona of a truly year round destination.
Kitzbühel is a multifaceted resort. It attracts a large number of sophisticates, and various "poseurs" from nearby countries, as well as throngs of serious "holiday skiers" from all over the globe. It is also a magnet for scores (no make that hundreds) of "ski bums" mostly from "down under" who want to have a season or so skiing, and combining it with a working holiday. It is this mixture, this melting pot that makes the area so interesting. Most Austrians however, unless they are directly involved in the tourism industry, tend to take an observer's stance to all these goings on. Everybody's loss.

Innsbruck, captital of the province of Tirol is one of that region's, nay one of the whole country's, top tourist draws. The same Innsbruck is also one of Europe's best ski attractions, but, the skiing in Innsbruck is not really in Innsbruck. The skiing sold under the Innsbruck label is really the skiing immediately above and around the city. The villages of Igls, Tulfes, Mutters and Aximer Lizum are connected to the city by a free and frequent ski bus. The ski pass which covers the bus ride also entitles the holder to slide on the more than 100km. of groomed slopes and trails in the above villages. There are, as well, more than 150 prepared cross country trails for those who like to do a bit of gliding and kicking. So Innsbruck then is the perfect base to do some of the best skiing in the Tirol.
