    Nuclear train arrives in Severodvinsk
On May 16, the first year's train arrived at Severodvinsk to take a load of spent nuclear fuel and ship it to the Mayak reprocessing plant on the southern Ural, Severny Rabochiy reported in Severodvinsk. The train had one prototype metal-concrete container (TUK-108). This container would not only serve for transportation but also for the storage of up to 40 years. Earlier this year, the Russian Nuclear Regulatory (GAN) refused to issue licence for this container pointing out a number of safety violations, which took place during its design and testing.
    Delta-III defuelled
According to Severodvinsk based Severny Rabochiy, defuelling of nuclear Delta-III submarine was started at Zvezdochka shipyard on May 10. Prior to the defuelling, water was pumped out from the reactors to avoid a steam explosion.

    Question
we plan on vacationing in boston in september this
yr. we don't want to drive our car....looking for traveling means by bus, train, subways, or trolley cars, that will cover the tall ships, musuems, his torical spots, submarine tours, motels etc. maybe private drivers who do this on a personal level hired out for a day of sightseeing etc. we just want a feasible, inexpensive way to get around to see as much of boston sites we can. please give me some insight..... Answer You're going to have a great time in Boston. I know I'm a little biased, but everyone who has been there has told me they love the place. September is also a great time to go. All of the college students will be back in town (Boston has a huge student population) so the city will definitely be alive and the weather should be good (not too hot like July and August). If you can get Red Sox tickets, you simply must go to Fenway Park. It might be tough to get tickets as the season is winding down in September, but you should definitely try. OK, you are quite wise to not drive a car around Boston. Boston drivers are notorious for making up their own rules of the road. Plus finding a parking space is near impossible and I think I read that Boston is the most expensive city in America to park your car in a garage. The Boston subway system is great. It's know simply as the "T" (from MBTA, the agency that runs it) so you would ask "where is the nearest T stop?". Here's a link to the MBTA's website. This should take you right to the subway map:

This historic document was printed by the American Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a submarine. This is the first time we have seen this certificate and the earliest Electric Boat Company.
    Certificate Vignette
The Electric Boat Company is a subsidiary of General Dynamics. It currently designs and builds nuclear submarines for the US Navy. At the height of the Cold War Electric Boat had as many as 25,000 workers building as many as 15 nuclear-powered submarines at a time. Currently about 7,500 workers are employed at Electric Boat, where there are more engineers and designers than laborers.
With more than a century of experience, the Electric Boat company has established standards of excellence in the design, construction and lifecycle support of submarines for the U.S. Navy. Primary operations are the shipyard in Groton, Conn., and the automated hull-fabrication and outfitting facility in Quonset Point, R.I., with a current workforce of nearly 9,000 employees.

    Transportation and Telecommunications
The wheel, the sail, the steam engine, and the electric motor are among the technological breakthroughs in transportation that allowed man and his materials to be moved from place to place and from one continent to another.  Until the invention of the telegraph, even distant communications were dependent on transportation.  From earliest times, trade, conquests, armed conflicts and search for new lands and resources had been the impetus in the development of maritime transport and the establishment of transportation routes.  Since the beginning of recorded history, maritime trading networks had waxed and waned, particularly with Europe, the Mediterranean Basin, Asia and Africa.
The 15 th century CE ushered in the Age of Discovery.  During this period, the voyage initiated by Ferdinand Magellan completed the first circumnavigation of the globe by one of his crew, Sebastian El Cano.  Between the 15 th and 18 th century, new lands and maritime routes had been discovered or rediscovered and east-west maritime trade begun to assume a global structure.
