Abstract Visualization of Free Will / Self-Control The Pipe Model I don't believe in "free will" any more than I believe in an "unfree will." Rather there are stronger and weaker wills. Changing your personality and controlling your actions are the results of a strong will. To be successful in life, you must not only envision a path, but you must also commit your whole body, heart, and mind toward your goals. Here is a model to help myself and others develop stronger wills.
Consider the interface between you and the rest of the world. Very simply, there is a membrane of skin and tissue separating the inner world from the outer. Input comes in via your senses, such as vision and hearing, which then slushes around inside of your nervous system and eventually comes out as action, such as through using your hands or speaking. I have structured the internal "slushing" as a process mediated by pipes. First the input comes down one pipe, then a choice is made, then finally the input converts to output and flows out another pipe. Hopefully you are happy with the last pipe. Can you control which pipe this is?

    My Neuro-linguistic Self-programming
I'm careful about what I say to myself and others, because I believe that one's attitudes are important to one's happiness. This article covers some of my self-talk and speech practices. I've long understood that my happiness depends mostly on how I think and, thereby, feel about myself and that there's a direct relationship between how much I love and accept myself and how much I love and accept others. I'm diligent about using only words that manifest compassion in me and that can foster compassion in me and in others. I'm not trying to be politically correct or fit popular psychology. I'm trying to live with as much integrity as I can. My choices regarding my terminology are subjective, and they work for me. They help me keep the attitudes that I want to have. I know where and why I draw the line. I know what my exceptions are and why I allow myself them. I'm as careful about what I think to myself as I am about my speech. Being agnostic, I don't think or talk in absolute terms; I tend to qualify things in relative terms. Shooting for honesty, I also try hard not to exaggerate or overgeneralize. Against some rules of writing, for example, I often use words like

    25. Meta-Programming - Rediscovery Of The Higher Self
Peter Shepard offers analytical procedures which are self applied, with the aid of biofeedback monitoring, leading to differentiate the spiritual being from the mental and physical. Course plan, definitions, prices, resources, links.

    Meta-Programming
    Explore Your Highest Spiritual Potential
Meta-Programming is a remarkably effective approach to personal spiritual discovery and the enhancement of consciousness. Meta-Programming means "to transcend or rise above programming".
Have you ever considered (perhaps somehow sensed) that who you are and what you are capable of must be more than your everyday life seems to suggest? Look at how most of us live - we endure our jobs, raise our families, handle life's challenges the best we can, and seek out whatever pleasures we can in the time remaining. Very few people seem to have a real certainty or direction to their lives. "Love is much more fundamental than any kind of thinking or believing. It is the root and basis of who you are, at the most fundamental level. This means that anything other than love as an expression of your being is artificial and unnatural and is a result of not knowing who you are." Bill Harris
Meta-Programming is the ultimate tool for re-discovering just who you really are, stripped of the artificial and unnatural. From the more-objective, bird's eye view which is the Higher Self, it becomes possible to rise above the programming imprinted by the experiences and cultural conditioning of your current lifetime and beyond, as well as the programs genetically inherited. These insights bring wisdom: acceptance and understanding. One is no longer limited to an ego-centric identity, in contrast to one's true potential of unlimited love, life and truth.

Assuming no prior knowledge (other than basic computer operation), this unintimidating and clearly written guide introduces the student to programming terminology, fundamental concepts, and techniques for writing actual code. Python is ideal for novice programmers: it is available for free; it has simple syntax but powerful features; it supports lots of programming styles; it runs on many platforms; it has a friendly and helpful user community. Using the Python language to teach the fundamentals of computer programming, the book introduces elements of programming style and offers a look at the thinking and steps involved in designing a software solution. Several sample applications illustrate techniques and ideas in action.

    Self-programming computers
Computers are really dumb. They can only do what we, poor hard working developers, tell them to do. Never come up with an idea themselves. Wouldn't it be much easier if computers could just program themselves? Our life would be a lot easier.
Every now and then we can go check up on the computer, see how the software development is progressing, and for the rest do nothing and be paid for the computer's work.
Hopefully the computer would even do a better job than we can do ourselves. Fortunately, the solution now seems to be there.
The Goedel Machine can change every aspect of it's own software. Including the algorithms that make the changes etc.
You can run this type of software on any computer.

Journal of Genetic Programming and Evolvable Machines
    Wolfgang Banzhaf
    Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada
Editor-in-Chief The journal of Genetic Programming and Evolvable Machines is devoted to reporting innovative and significant progress in automatic evolution of software and hardware. Methods for artificial evolution of active components, such as programs or machines are rapidly developing branches of adaptive computation and adaptive engineering. They entail the development, evaluation and application of methods that mirror the process of neo-Darwinian evolution and produce as result computational expressions such as algorithms or machines such as mechanical or electronic devices that actively process environmental information and transform their environment. In addition to its main topics, the journal covers related topics such as evolutionary algorithms with variable-size genomes, alternate methods of program induction, approaches to engineering systems development based on embryology, morphogenesis or other techniques inspired by adaptive natural systems.
    Methods:
Genetic Programming; Variable-size evolutionary algorithms; Induction of algorithms and symbolic expressions by iterative and non-deterministic search; Evolutionary design and Optimization of electronic circuits and mechanical devices; On-line adaptation of hardware and software; Evolutionary robotics; DNA computing; Coevolutionary techniques; meta-learning; Hybrid systems; Cellular and Developmental approaches.

    Computer Science Lab
Welcome to Computer Science Lab , home of the finest computer programming curriculum for high school and home school students and curious adults of all ages. This Windows CD-ROM includes all the tools, manuals, and example programs that you need to learn computer programming. This unique computer curriculum offers 3 different environments of graduated complexity: a programmable RPN (Reverse Polish Notation) calculator, an Intel 8051 microprocessor that is programmed using assembly language, and finally the high-level C++ language. Each of these 3 languages comes complete with an integrated development environment (IDE) that provides an editor, compiler, and debugger. You get fully explained solutions to fun programming projects such as a scrolling electronic signboard, a robotic mouse in a maze, an audio peak detector using an LED bar graph, and the Breakout video game. All of these example programs have been designed to be highly visual, audible, and fun. In addition to the introduction to assembly language programming and the introduction to C++, this curriculum offers an introduction to Windows programming and graphical user interfaces . You can find screen shots and further description of each of these programs on the "Catalog" page. This curriculum has been used and praised by degreed engineers who are already working in industry. It is also being used in universities, high schools, charter schools, and home schools (minimal computer savvy is required on the part of the homeschool parents!). A magazine that reviews educational software gave this curriculum a 4.5 out of 5 ranking. This magazine asked a computer systems administrator to evaluate the software and he concluded it was "brilliantly" done. You can read the review yourself by clicking
