On 6 June 2003, the Cameron Scottish Dancers started dancing at Central Presbyterian Church located at 64th and Park, New York, NY. Please continue to use the FAPC mailing address and phone number, but join us for dancing in our temporary home.
Our
End of Season Party with music by Debbie Nuse and Chip Prince is Friday, 18 June at the Central Presbyterian Church.
Did you ever want to dance Scottish reels and strathspeys like they did in Braveheart or Rob Roy? Or perhaps you've harbored a secret fantasy of wearing a kilt? If so, come dance with us at Central Presbyterian Church each Friday evening at 7:00 pm, beginning September 19. We have live music, and you never need to bring a partner. Beginners are always welcome, as different levels are taught by several teachers. After a summer of barbeques, country dancing is a great way to laugh your way into the Fall, and also to forget the stresses of the work week. No reservations are necessary; just bring $7 and comfortable clothes. For more detail, you may contact Isabelle Smith or Jack Cole about our classes or the Scottish music workshops (relax ... you don't HAVE to wear a kilt !! )

Scottish Country Dancing is energetic social dancing. Not to be confused with Highland or solo dancing, it is also known as the Ballroom Dancing of Scotland. The emphasis is on fun, friendship and lively music. It is done in sets of 6 or 8 people. Since dancing etiquette requires that you change partners after each dance, you soon get to know everyone.
