He was both an Indian and a South African citizen. Both countries contributed to his intellectual and moral genius, and he shaped the liberatory movements in both colonial theaters. He is the archetypal anticolonial revolutionary. His strategy of noncooperation, his assertion that we can be dominated only if we cooperate with our dominators, and his nonviolent resistance inspired anticolonial and antiracist movements internationally in our century. Both Gandhi and I suffered colonial oppression, and both of us mobilized our respective peoples against governments that violated our freedoms.

VIETNAM:
SACRED GROUND
Thirty years later, the memories of My Lai still haunt the site of one of the war's most barbaric incidents VIETNAM March 16, 1998 VOL. 151 NO. 10
Echoes Of My Lai Thirty years after a brutal Vietnam War massacre, the survivors, and their children, still ask: Why? By TIM LARIMER Son My The road to My Lai, 12 km off Highway 1, Vietnam's only north-south artery, cuts through rice fields resplendent with their varying hues of greens and golds. A tri-shaw driver balancing a load of bamboo stalks pedals furiously to keep pace with the motorb ikes. On careful examination one notices that the man's left leg is an artificial stump-another casualty of war. In a village in Son My commune, where the massacre occurred, children play on the beach, using twigs as pretend rifles. A boy makes the poppin g sound of gunfire; a girl falls to the sand, playing dead. Such a game might seem innocent elsewhere; here, it is chilling to watch. A few meters from the make-believe battleground, dozens of real bodies are buried in a mass grave that Truong Quang Ran, now 70, helped fill. "There weren't enough coffins," he says, "so we wrapped the bodies in rattan mats." My Lai's place in American history is firmly entrenched, as a disturbing wake-up call that the U.S. military could be as guilty of inhumane acts as any Army. The incident, initially covered up for more than a year, stunned the nation and added fire to the anti-war movement. It still can stir emotions. Last week the Pentagon awarded a medal to Hugh Thompson, an Army officer who witnessed the massacre as his helicopter hovered above My Lai. He landed and stopped a group of G.I.s from assaulting more civilia ns. Thompson is scheduled to return to My Lai for an anniversary ceremony this month. The U.S. government declined to send a representative. "We talked about doing something," says a State Department spokesman in Hanoi, "but decided not to."

PROPHETIC TIME SPANS Bible prophecy is the news in advance. It is the Almighty telling humanity and the angel host what He is about to do or allow Satan to do. Studying Bible prophecy is like taking a look at the Diary of the Most High . When studied in conjunction with the sacred calendar, Bible prophecy is the most reliable evidence the church has that the Almighty is working to a divine timetable ; one that is infinitely more reliable than the diaries and wall charts business managers use. Bible prophecy is also the LORD'S way of warning all mankind of approaching danger. 2 Pet.1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place , until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21: For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Amos 3:7 Surely the LORD GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

The Sacred Labyrinth Walk, Illuminating the Inner Path, is the ancient practice of "Circling to the Center" by walking the labyrinth. The rediscovery of this self alignment tool to put our lives in perspective is one of the most important spiritual movements of our day. Labyrinths have been in use for over 4000 years. Their basic design is fundamental to nature and many cultures and religious traditions. Whatever one's religion...walking the labyrinth clears the mind and gives insight. It calms people in the throes of life's transitions. We extend an invitation to people from all faiths, especially those who are in transition and/or are struggling to find a means of prayer or meditation. Join us as you learn about this ancient meditation tool of prayer, as we become "spiritual beings on a human path, not simply human beings on a spiritual path."

E-mail this story Posted on: Tuesday, May 11, 2004 EDITORIAL Sacred Falls tragedy not frozen in time As we pass the five-year anniversary of the fatal rockslide at O'ahu's Sacred Falls, it's incredible to think that this spectacular North Shore state park has been closed to hikers and gatherers for half a decade. Eight people were killed on that ill-fated Mother's Day in 1999. The state settled a lawsuit by victims and their families for $8.5 million last year. And it's perfectly understandable that the state doesn't want to risk a repeat of the disaster that struck when rocks and other debris cascaded down a dry waterfall onto the crowd at 70 to 100 mph. Rescue attempts were hampered by the remoteness of the location and sheer density of the crowd. At the same time, though, we cannot let the tragedy become frozen in time. As nature teaches us repeatedly, lessons are learned and life goes on.

Cassette Released in 1995, this, my first CD has been the most successful. It was recorded in San Francisco at Boz Scaggs personal studio by my good friend, Micheal Rodrigez. It was an " integration " recording that reflected my converging sexuality and spirituality . The message seemed to work for and against itself. Most people either "got it" or "resisted it." Ironically, some of those who knew me and my background, were the ones who dismissed it as being too "Christian," even though only 3 of the 16 tracks deal with my spirituality. Those who didn't know me or my background seemed more willing to accept it for what it was. The CD won three nominations at the GLAMA Awards, for Best Male Artist, Best Debut Artist and Album of the Year. We also produced two

The Holy Cross is often depicted in ancient esoteric societies, as well as in sacred religious orders of today, quite simply, as a cross in a circleor in some minor variance of this cardinal form. This symbol not only represents a fundamental foundation upon which many faiths are built, but also is made to remind us, especially in times of darkness, that something profound is to occur for the entire Earth and for all of her people. The Holy Cross is a promise of an event leading to the spiritual evolutionary fulfillment of all life. The Holy Cross is not only a spiritual symbol, it is also the astronomical symbol for planet Earth. The cosmic significance of this symbol is that it marks the timing of a primary transition or turning in the natural evolutionary cycle of the Earth. Hidden within this symbol is a map referring to a unique occurrence of a specific geometric relationship between Earth, the solar system, and our galaxyan astrophysical event occurring now, within Earth's ~25,920 year, precessional cycle.

HE word poppy seems to have undergone some dizzy swings of fortune over the last century. Held in high esteem for decades, it went downhill and took on a rank odour. Now it seems poised to acquire a touch of holiness again. Its elevation from ordinariness to sanctity began in the year 1915. World War I was well into its stride and the slaughter of British soldiers engaged in trench warfare was in full flow. That was when the London magazine Punch published a short poem by a little-known English poet, John McCrae, whose last two lines are in the form of a cry emanating from dead soldiers: If ye break faith with us who are dead. We shall not sleep

One Sacred Moment In Time And Space
by Gururattan Kaur Khalsa, Ph.D.

Author and Teacher of Kundalini Yoga

We have entered this human body for a short, sacred moment on Planet Earth.
Each moment is precious
At each moment we make choices on how to navigate our soul through time and space.
Our soul seeks to experience love in the human form, in physical reality.
Each choice determines our past, present and future.
What we experience is what we create.
Our gift and our challenge is to use our free will to choose love.
For just one moment, unleash your grip, relax And let the unknown work for you. For just one thought, release control of how you think things ought to be And take a glimpse at the way things really are. For just one glimpse, step back, jump out of your box And observe a perspective so much vaster than your mind's view. For one complete minute, look to the horizon, allow your breath to be automatic And feel the infinite feed your being. For one heartbeat stop holding on. Let go.

Introduction
Mayan Mexico Maya Guatemala, Belize, Honduras Mayan Architecture ... Central America
DESTINATIONS Made Up of Time By Mark Leger The Maya, sons of the days, are made up of time," Eduardo Galleano recently wrote. He was referring to two things: their brilliant traditional calendars, products of astronomical knowledge until recently unrivaled by any other culture. And the Mayan ability to endure. The Mayan ruins of central America are from cities that fell into decline long before Columbus. But many of the traditions reflected in the architecture and art from these sites live on in the modern Mayan world. The ancient Mayan world centered on the Yucatan Peninsula, spilling over to the lowland rainforests of Mexico to the east and Belize in the west, finally climbing up to the Guatamalan highlands through to the Pacific coast of

100. Sacred Geometry -- What Is It?
that he and his students would have proved the case for the legitimacy of sacred geometry beyond reasonable doubt but he wrote at a peculiar time in history
http://www.luckymojo.com/sacreddefined.html
SACRED GEOMETRY WHAT IS IT?
The term "sacred geometry" is used by archaeologists, anthropologists, and geometricians to encompass the religious, philosohical, and spiritual beliefs that have sprung up around geometry in various cultures during the course of human history. It is a catch-all term covering Pythagorean geometry and neo-Platonic gometry, as well as the perceived relationships between organic curves and logarithmic curves. Here are a few examples of how the "sacred" has entered into geometry in different eras and cultures: 1) The ancient Greeks assigned various attributes to the Platonic solids and to certain geometrically-derived ratios, investing them with "meaning." For example, the cube symbolized kingship and earthly foundations, while the Golden Section was seen as a dynamic principle embodying philosphy and wisdom. Thus a building dedicated to a god-king might bear traces of cubic geometry, while one dedicated to a heavenly god might have been constructed using Golden Section proportions. 2) When Hindus (ancient and modern) plan to erect any ediface for religious purposes, from a small wayside shrine to an elaborate temple, they first perform a simple geometric construction on the ground, establishing due East and West and constructing a square therefrom. (It's a simple, elegant piece of work, at about the level of high school geometry). Upon this dioagram they lay out the entire building. The making of this geometric construction is accomanied by prayers and other religious observances.
