BOOK REPORTS
Do you have a student who likes to read? Is it time to start learning how to write a composition? Whether your student likes to read or not, this curriculum is a must. Learning the pattern for a book report is a precursor to learning how to write essays and research reports. These curricula are fun and easy to use so that your student will slip into writing with ease! Not only that, but with the preprinted forms for collecting data and writing the final book report, your student will be organized and you will have a keepsake record of the writing successes your student will achieve with these curricula. BOOK REPORTS is a series of workbooks that teach your student how to write a proper Book Report from the opening paragraph to the closing paragraph. Each workbook includes 7-11 weeks of graduated lessons and writing practice per grade level. The lessons begin with how to choose a scripturally honoring book to read where your student will look up verses andrecord what they have learned on worksheets and in a quick reference table. Through the grade levels your student will learn how to gather and organize information from a book for writing. Additional lessons will teach your student how to write an opening paragraph, detail paragraphs, and summary paragraphs. Each workbook contains advancing writing lessons concerning a book's characters and significant book details. More lessons include instructions on book ending/analysis, the use of transition sentences, paragraph formation and unity, and more! Grammar lessons and practice are also interspersed throughout each workbook as appropriate to the advancing ability of the skills your student acquires.

    Highly recommended:
Course description: This course is designed to strengthen the language skills learned in the basic language sequence. As indicated in the title of the course, we will focus primarily on grammar and writing, with special attention paid to the aspects of the Spanish language which are most difficult to master. The goal is to help students move toward fluency in Spanish. All students should markedly improve in the four skills areaswriting, reading, speaking, and understandingthat comprise functional fluency in the target language. Native Spanish speakers also will benefit from the intense focus on writing and grammar in the course. This is a required course for the Spanish major, but minors and Education majors traditionally comprise a large portion of its enrollment. This class is conducted in Spanish, and students are expected to speak Spanish at all times. Cultural as well as linguistic literacy will be emphasized.
