G ermany Online Home: Life: Religion Religion The „Grundgesetz“ (the German Basic Laws, which has the importance of a Constitution) guarantees freedom of faith and freedom of religion and declares that no one may be discriminated due to their faith or religious opinions. There is no state church in Germany and no control of the churches by the state. The churches and several other religious communities have the status of independant public-law corporations. The relationship between church and state is that of a partnership, regulated by concordats and agreements. Germans who are members of a church support it through their taxes, not directly as in the U.S. When taxpayers list their religious affiliation on their employment record a part of their income tax is collected by the tax authorities and given to the church to which the taxpayer belongs. The social and charitable commitment of the churches is an integral part of public life in Germany. Their work is indispensable in hospitals, assisted-living facilities, nursing homes, schools or day-care centers. About 67 percent of the German population, more than 55 million people, belong to a Christian Church. Nearly half of them are Protestants, nearly half of them Roman Catholics, and a minority belongs to other Christian denominations. Approximately three million Muslims live in Germany, and the Jewish community has about 100,000 members.

Indian Fashion About Indian Fashion, Indian dresses, clothing, designers etc. Indian fashion varies from one village to another village, from one city to another city. India's fashion heritage is rich in tradition, vibrant in colors and prepossessing. Bold colors created by the inventive drapes of these textiles catches the imagination like no other contemporary clothing. Indian Fashion - ancient fashion in India Indian sari remains the traditional clothing of Indian women. Worn in varied styles, it is a long piece of flat cotton, silk or other fabric woven in different textures with different patterns. The sari has a lasting charm since it is not cut or tailored for a particular size. This graceful feminine attire can also be worn in several ways and its manner of wearing as well as its color and texture are indicative of the status, age, occupation, region and religion of a woman. The tightly fitted, short blouse worn under a sari is called a choli . The choli evolved as a form of Indian clothing around the tenth century AD and the first cholis were only front covering; the back was always bare.

Stormfront White Nationalist Community General Theology Religion as a fashion statement I have known many people who wear religion trinkets around their necks, while they don't attend religious ceremonies, or even take their religion seriously. I have seen this behavior in both Christians who like the way crosses look around their necks, as well as others who also like the look of a cross around the neck.
Now this is not meant as a slight to Odinists, but most of the ones that I have known fall into this category. I have yet to meet one who actually practices Odinist rituals or religious beliefs.
Most of the ones that I have known, simply hate Christianity, and think that a Hammer of Thor necklace looks cool around their necks.
Now I can see why they think that a Hammer of Thor looks cool. I think they look neat myself, but that's not the point.
The point is this: Other races (Jews, Muslims, etc.) have what Patrick Bucchanan calls a fighting faith. Most of the mainstream Christian churches in America do not have a fighting faith anymore: they go around apologising to Muslims for the crusades, to Jews for the Inquisition, to non-Whites for Christian/Western imperialism, etc.
The only "fighting faith" left in large numbers as far as Christians go, looks like Evangelicals. A fighting faith serves the social cohesion of these groups.

Introduction The Greeks made many contributions to present society, and our lives today are greatly influenced by the ancient Greeks! Did you know the ancient Greeks created and transformed things like:
    • trial by jury tragedy and comedy theater myths democracy the olympics sculpture epic poetry architecture
Our lives would be extremely different today, if it wasn't for the ancient Greeks. Therefore it is important to understand what their lives were like. The more you know about ancient Greece, the more you will know and understand about your own life today.
    Your Task
    • We have lost all of the records on daily life in ancient Greece!!!!! That means future students will not be able to learn what an average day was like in ancient Greece. However, you have been chosen to return to ancient Greece, (through the Internet) and collect information for others to read. You need to get as much information as possible! Once you have the information, you need to write a newspaper article explaining what really happened in ancient Greece.

Exquisitely styled and intricately embroidered, Abhas, the traditional costume of the region of Kutch, has entered the world of high fashion. Successfully adapted to modern styles by Anjali Mangaldas, this beautiful garment has become a rage with the fashion conscious women.
In the village of Kutch, the women looked beautiful in their fabulous Abhas as they swayed to the music. The twinkling lights played mischievously over the gold and thread embroidery while the sequins and badla work sparkled continuously. A woman in an abha, the traditional costume of the Khatri, Memon and Korja Muslim communities of Kutch is a sight to behold. This garment from Kutch, a district in Gujarat, has a history that is as colourful and exciting as the garment. In ancient times the women wore the abha embellished with beautiful tie-dye designs, zari thread embroidery that was very minute and intricate embroidery in coloured silk or cotton thread in a combination of a variety of stitches, integrating minuscule mirror discs into its elaborate and distinct pattern.
The word abha-has been derived from aba a word commonly used in the middle eastern countries which means a top garment or a mantle. The abha based on an age-old traditional classical cut and style, is basically a

    The Fashion of the Priced
A friend told me this weekend that she had gone to see The Passion , Mel Gibson's act of faith movie. "Did you see it?" she gushed. "Are you going to see it?" I said, "No. I read the book. I already know how it comes out." She shifted away from what seemed to be the lead-in to a discussion of the religious aspects of the film, instead talking about how intense the scenes were. "I left stunned by the movie," she added quietly. "There's so much violence in it." Her husband offered "It struck me that in 2000 years, we haven't changed much. We are still vicious animals." That's when a thought hit me, answering a nagging question I had lurking about the back recesses of my mind about why Gibson's popular and very profitable movie, now with an announced sequel in the works, disturbed me so much even though I hadn't seen it. But now I could see what bothered me so - the movie celebrates, through a focus on the brutality and not on the real message of Jesus, the triumph of the Old Testament over the New. My friend's husband was right. We are still animals - sadistic animals who celebrate brutal violence and the joys of inflicting pain, fobbing off any responsibility because "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven".
