An innovative approach to post acute rehabilitation. Client specific in design, the aim of the outcome oriented plan is focused on concrete needs and practical solutions. A full complement of therapists and community living specialists develop an intensive treatment plan to provide each client with specific services needed to return home. Combined with behavioral support , cognitive remediation and family education, clients transitioning from NeuroAdvancE have an outstanding success rate.
  • Educational and Vocational Services A range of services may include job assessment and evaluation, GED preparation, job experience and placement , job coaching, transportation, and driving assessment and education. Each client has an Individualized Education Plan or Work Adjustment Plan.

Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is an 800-bed regional Medical Center affiliated with Wake Forest University. The department of Recreation Therapy was founded in 1975, and offers services to patients of the Psychiatric, Rehabilitation, Burn/Plastics/Renal, Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Acute Care for the Elderly, Critical Care, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Trauma and Medical Surgical Units. Programs are also offered in Aquatics at the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation. The Child Life program of the department offers programs for pediatric patients. As the Society established primary health clinics and hospitals, it also established special rehabilitation facilities for the injured and disabled. The PRCS philosophy is that rehabilitation is an inseparable part of the development process as is the integration of the disabled population with the general population. To achieve its goal, PRCS takes a holistic and long term approach to its programming by using the day care centers, family involvement, house visits, follow up, self-care programs, education, vocational. training and job placement PRCS recognizes that both health and social factors must be considered in rehabilitation. PRCS believes that these objectives can be significant by enhanced through co-operation and co-ordination with local, and international organizations in this field.
