PURPOSE:
Carbon County Environmental Education Center, 151 East White Bear Drive, Summit Hill, PA 18250, promotes awareness and understanding of our total environment through education. By providing a variety of environmentally related services, and in stressing human environmental impacts, CCEEC encourages responsibility for, and appreciation of all natural resources. WHAT WE DO:
  • Environmental education classes for school students, grades K to 12
  • Environmental education programs for schools, churches, civic organizations and the general public (see Calender

THROB - The Heart Rehabilitation Organisation of Berkshire
The aim of the THROB organisation is to promote cardiac rehabilitation in the Berkshire area covered by Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot and the Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.
THROB raises funds for rehabilitation equipment and services to benefit victims of Coronary Heart Disease now and in the future. Since its inception in 1991, THROB has raised approximately £50.000 for equipment and services for Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals.
THROB organises social activities for members, their families and their friends to enjoy and improve their lifestyles - and often to raise money in the process !
There is an ever-increasing number of exercise classes that THROB supports and for which THROB provides equipment. Over £20,000 has been raised over the last ten years for exercise classes and equipment. Details of all the current classes can be found on our "Keeping Fit" page
Each quarter THROB produces a magazine with articles from within the group and news of new medications, diets and observations on publications of special interest to cardiac patients.
