George H. W. Bush Born: February 6, 1911
Tampleo, Illinios Occupation: Actor, Public Official Married Jane Wyman Nancy Davis Early Years:
Reagan went to school in Dixon, Illinois, and then to Eureka college where he majored in economics. He had strong interest in sports, drama and politics. Reagan became a Hollywood actor and made over fifty movies. His Presidency: Reagan's leadership raised the country's optimism about our national strength. His foreign policies were instrumental in ending the cold war. Reagan's greatest achievement was the banning of intermediate range nuclear arms through a treaty with the Soviet Union in 1987. His life: At the end of his two terms in office, Ronald Reagan viewed with satisfaction the achievements of his innovative program known as the Reagan Revolution, which aimed to reinvigorate the American people and reduce their reliance upon Government. He felt he had fulfilled his campaign pledge of 1980 to restore "the great, confident roar of American progress and growth and optimism."

Served as president from 1981 to 1989 Ronald Wilson Reagan (1911-...), was elected president of the United States in 1980 and won a second term in 1984. Reagan, a Republican, had served two terms as governor of California before he became President. In 1980, Reagan defeated President Jimmy Carter, the Democratic candidate. In 1984, Reagan defeated former Vice President Walter F. Mondale, the Democratic nominee, in a landslide. The president won 525 electoral votes, more than any other presidential candidate in the nation's history. Before Reagan entered politics, he had been an actor nearly 30 years. He appeared in more than 50 movies.
Reagan's presidency
When Reagan became president, the nation faced serious foreign and domestic problems. Relations between the United States and the Soviet Union had reached their lowest point in years following a Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in late 1979 and early 1980. Reagan strengthened the military systems of the United States and its allies in Western Europe. This angered the Soviet Union. The Reagan Administration also increased U.S. involvement in Central America. It gave military equipment to troops fighting Communist supported forces in El Salvador and Nicaragua. In 1987, Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev signed a treaty that led to a reduction of certain U.S. and Soviet nuclear arms.

28. Ronald Reagan: A Who2 Profile
ronald reagan • Actor / us president. ronald reagan began his career as a sportsannouncer on radio, then moved to Hollywood and became a movie star.
http://www.who2.com/ronaldreagan.html
RONALD REAGAN Actor / U.S. President President of the United States from 1981-1989, Ronald Reagan was known as a staunch conservative, a cheery optimist, and an implacable foe of Soviet communism. Reagan began his career as a sports announcer on radio, then moved to Hollywood and became a movie star. Reagan made over fifty movies as a reliable supporting actor or benign leading man, but his real calling seemed to be in politics. He served as the governor of California (1967-75) and then in 1980 defeated Democrat Jimmy Carter to become the 40th U.S. president. He advocated lower taxes and higher defense spending, and aggressively challenged the Soviet Union. The final years of his administration were clouded by a back-door scheme to fund anti-communist forces in Central America the so-called Iran Contra affair but the popular president emerged from the scandal unscathed. He stepped down after two full terms and was succeeded by his vice-president, George Bush the elder. In 1994 Reagan announced that he suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. He spent the next ten years in seclusion and increasingly poor health until his death in 2004.
Extra credit : Reagan married the actress Nancy Davis on 4 March 1952; he previously had been married to actress Jane Wyman from 1941-48... He had four children, Maureen and Michael (with Wyman) and Patricia and Ron Jr. (with Nancy Reagan)... In March of 1981, Reagan was

Thank you, Keith. Governor and Mrs. Wilson, Mr. And Mrs. Wick, Trustees of the President Reagan Library and Museum, all of you who have served your country, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen. Never before has such an exhibit been done on this scale.  The Central Intelligence Agency and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum have collaborated in this endeavor to promote a deeper understanding of the role of intelligence in the Presidential decision making process and in the American system of government. The CIA, which has the best museum An additional 76 rare and exceptional artifacts are on loan courtesy of Mr. Keith Melton, whose splendid private collection of espionage equipment numbers close to 7,000 pieces, making it the largest private collection of espionage paraphernalia in the world.  I also want to thank Danny Biederman, who has loaned to the Library for this exhibit some of his collection of Hollywood spy memorabilia.  Hollywood has long been fascinated with the world of espionage, and, of course, most of its portrayals of the intelligence business are pure fantasy.  There was an occasion, however, when Hollywood and the CIA collaborated to pull off one of the great clandestine exfiltration operations in history. Studies In Intelligence I also want to thank Duke Blackwood and the multi-talented staff of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for their superb work in creating this exhibit. And, I want to thank the Board of Trustees for the opportunity to present this visual lesson on the history of intelligence.

    President Reagan's Speech
to the National Association of Evangelicals
    Orlando, Florida
    March 8, 1983.
President Ronald Reagan Those of you in the National Association of Evangelicals are known for you spiritual and humanitarian work. And I would be especially remiss if I didn't discharge right now one personal debt of gratitude. Thank you for your prayers. Nancy and I have felt their presence many times in many years. And believe me, for us they've made all the difference. The other day in the East Room of the White House at a meeting there, someone asked me whether I was aware of all the people out there who were praying for the President. And I had to say, "Yes, I am. I've felt it. I believe in intercessionary prayer." But I couldn't help but say to that questioner after he'd asked the question that - or at least say to them that if sometimes when he was praying he got a busy signal, it was just me in there ahead of him. I think I understand how Abraham Lincoln felt when he said, "I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go." From the joy and the good feeling of this conference, I go to a political reception. Now, I don't know why, but that bit of scheduling reminds me of a story - - which I'll share with you. An evangelical minister and a politician arrived at Heaven's gate one day together. And St. Peter, after doing all the necessary formalities, took them in hand to show them where their quarters would be. And he took them to a small, single room with a bed, a chair, and a table and said this was for the clergyman. And the politician was a little worried about what might be in store for him. And he couldn't believe it then when St. Peter stopped in front of a beautiful mansion with lovely grounds, many servants, and told him that these would be his quarters.

And to show that this is no empty boasting for the present occasion, but real tangible fact, you have only to consider the power which our city possesses and which has been won by those very qualities which I have mentioned.
