I am currently teaching at the University of South Carolina Union, and scheduled to teach at the UNCU Laurens. Since installation this index has been used by my students (in chronological order) at the University of South Carolina Union, Presbyterian College, the University of South Carolina Spartanburg, and Limestone College. This page contains links to information on current courses and art history resources. This page also contains links to computing, multimedia, and Web research information to assist in assignments. It will never be complete as I continually add art history and art links. I must apologize for pages created in my early days of Web publishing, they are plain and could use some rewriting. Most of my pages are written within "plain English" guidelines for international students, and designed with simplicity to load quickly. Some of these Web pages were quickly constructed for on-going art history courses. As time permits I will clean the pages and make them more attractive.

The Missing Link in Mentoring
Much of the current literature on teacher training emphasizes the importance of mentoring new teachers during their first few years on the job. However, existing mentoring programs are based on some big assumptions. They assume that mentors can describe what they do. And, they assume that green teachers can discriminate effective teaching when they see it. Both of these assumptions are questionable at best. Far from requiring superhuman ability, the skills of exceptional teachers tend to be straightforward and teachable. All teachers have some of these skills. What makes "natural" teachers exceptional is that they have a lot of these skills.

The latest version of the TIFF specification is available on-line in several different formats, as are a number of Technical Notes (TTN's) Included in this software distribution is a library, libtiff, for reading and writing TIFF, a small collection of tools for doing simple manipulations of TIFF images on UNIX systems, and documentation on the library and tools. A small assortment of TIFF-related software for UNIX that has been contributed by others is also included. The library, along with associated tool programs, should handle most of your needs for reading and writing TIFF images on 32- and 64-bit machines. This software can also be used on older 16-bit systems though it may require some effort and you may need to leave out some of the compression support.
