Kilroy-Silk: Said column had been "republished in error." Story Tools RELATED BBC pulls talkshow in racism row QUICKVOTE Was the BBC right to suspend talkshow host Robert Kilroy-Silk for his remarks criticizing Arabs?
Yes No VIEW RESULTS YOUR E-MAIL ALERTS Robert Kilroy-Silk Great Britain Islam Racism or Create your own Manage alerts What is this? LONDON, England (CNN) British talkshow host Robert Kilroy-Silk has hit out at the BBC for not supporting him in a row over an article in which he called Arabs "suicide bombers, limb-amputators, women repressors." The BBC has axed his morning half-hour show pending an inquiry but Kilroy-Silk accused his bosses of "giving way" to a lobby demanding his resignation. He said he had hoped the corporation would have "kept the programme going and dealt with the criticisms." The former British Labour MP, 61, also said he thought the BBC had reacted "differently" to the row than it otherwise would have done because of the imminent publication of the Hutton report, which has put in the spotlight the issue of BBC presenters writing for newspapers. The corporation said there would be no further comment until its investigation was concluded. (

Edwin A. Locke, Ph.D.
It is now taken as a virtual axiom that the way to cure racism is through the promulgation of racial and ethnic diversity within corporations, universities, government agencies and other institutions. The diversity movement has many facets: diversity awareness, diversity training, diversity hiring and admissions, diversity promotions, and diversity accommodations (e.g., black student organizations and facilities at universities). The common feature in all these facets is: racial preference.
If diversity is the cure, however, why, instead of promoting racial harmony, has it brought racial division and conflict? The answer is not hard to discover. The unshakable fact is that you cannot cure racism with racism. To accept the diversity premise means to think in racial terms rather than in terms of individual character or merit. Taking jobs away from one group in order to compensate a second group to correct injustices caused by a third group who mistreated a fourth group at an earlier point in history (e.g., 1860) is absurd on the face of it and does not promote justice; rather, it does the opposite. Singling out one group for special favors (e.g., through affirmative action) breeds justified resentment and fuels the prejudices of real racists. People are individuals; they are not interchangeable ciphers in an amorphous collective.

Environmental Justice / Environmental Racism
"Racism is the intentional or unintentional use of power to isolate, separate and exploit others. . . Racism is more than just a personal attitude; it is the institutionalized form of the attitude"
-National Council of Churches Racial Justice Working Group Now all of the issues of environmental racism and environmental justice don't just deal with people of color. We are just as much concerned with inequities in Appalachia, for example, where the whites are basically dumped on because of lack of economic and political clout and lack of having a voice to say "no" and that's environmental injustice.

R ace I ssues D ialogue Forum The Race Issues Dialogue Forum, founded by Tatiana Nu, is an on-line discussion group devoted to topics of racism, bringing together people of all races who want to create positive change between all racial groups. I feel that the discomfort of the topic is enough to suppress a vast potential of ideas and visions for making our world more free of discrimination. This forum is the place to get past that discomfort. The issue has many complexities, and many perspectives, but this should not stop one from opening one's mind and heart to it. I want this forum to be a place where people can share their thoughts and experiences, as well as their hopes for a better community, a better America and a better world. If these visions are not even articulated, they certainly have no hope of occurring. This forum is the place to articulate those visions. Also posted at this site will be periodic conversations, interviews and essays on a variety of race related topics. Why I started the RID Forum How to sign up for RID Forum Quotes for Consideration In Conversation with Daryl Davis ... Who is Tatiana Nu?

Anti Racism Campaign (ARC)
Who we are and what we stand for The Anti Racism Campaign (ARC) is an open and democratic alliance of people who came together to combat the anti-refugee and anti-immigrant hysteria initiated and encouraged by many politicians and sections of the media. We are non party political. We support equal rights for refugees and immigrants: work, welfare, housing and entry into Ireland. We welcome the advent of greater ethnic diversity as a positive development for Irish society. We also oppose the racist treatment that has been experienced by Travelers (an Irish ethnic minority). We oppose sexism, sectarianism and homophobia. We are against immigration controls and refuse to separate people into "deserving" (refugees) and "non-deserving" (immigrants). Millions of Irish people have emigrated in search of a better life. 150 years ago there were 8 million people living in Ireland, today the number has only climbed back to 5 million. For the Irish government to deny people entry is particularly hypocritical and discriminatory. Racism does not offer any solution to poverty here. It is an attempt to hold foreign born people responsible for the government's neglect of working class communities and their underfunding of welfare services. Racism divides ordinary tax paying workers and unemployed people on the grounds of colour, and deflects us into fighting among ourselves. Meanwhile the government gives away our tax money in grants to big business and tax amnesties for the rich.
