Lynn's Pet Sitting features insured, professional care for your pets and home.
I have kept my business small so that there is an emphasis on quality pet care. I believe that pet sitting is more than just tending to your pet's basic needs (i.e. feeding, watering, and exercise). That's why I'll spend at least 30 minutes per visit. This way your pets also get some loving attention such as petting and playtime. After all, your pets are your kids. They might be furry, feathered, or finned, but they're still your kids! This is my attitude towards my own pets and will be my attitude towards yours as well. I feel pets bring a lot of happiness to your life and I feel good about bringing happiness to theirs as well.
Lynn with Hans and Punkin
I provide care for cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, and rodents such as hamsters, mice, guinea pigs and ferrets. I also provide care for special needs pets.

    Pet Care Tips:
    Pocket Pet Care
From the moment you hold a soft ball of fluff cupped in your hands, you're smitten. The nose twitches, the whiskers wiggle, and the eyes shine. A fragile, furry bundle of love has put its trust in you, and you have made a new best friend. Welcome to the world of pocket pets. Rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, guinea pigs, and ferrets are often called "pocket pets" because they are small, cute, and inexpensive. Their name is not meant to imply, however, that they're disposable or that they can be neglected. These small animals have specific diet, housing, and handling requirements, and they need care and attention just as much as a dog or cat. And if they're well cared for, they can also be just as much fun. No place like home
    Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize
You can enrich your pet's environment and keep him comfortable and active with a number of accessories. A "hide box"a small box, tube, or other enclosed area where your pet can conceal himself-will make him feel safe and comfortable. Plastic tunnels, wheels, hollow rolling balls with latching lids, and other toys are available that can let your pet exercise. Make sure your pet is safe and can't get trapped inside or catch his feet or tail on a seam or a corner. Also make sure that the toys are made out of metal or durable plastic so your furry friend can't chew and ingest them. You can buy chewing blocks made out of wood or very dense pressed plant fibers for rodents. Rodents' teeth grow throughout their lifetimesthey chew constantly to keep their choppers filed down to a comfortable length.

    http://www.petplanet.co.uk/petplanet/health/rabbit_neuter.htm
It's Nicer to Neuter By Carina Norris If they don't want to breed from their pets, responsible dog and cat owners have their pets neutered. But rabbit owners? Far too few rabbit owners know that their pets would be far happier and healthier if they had this simple operation. In the past, many female rabbits which were assumed to have died from 'old age' were actually killed by reproductive cancers, such as breast, uterus and ovarian cancer. Unless they are spayed (the neutering operation for female animals), up to 80% of female rabbits naturally develop these cancers by the age of five years. As soon as they are old enough to breed - at around four to six months - they will start having repeated pregnancies, or false pregnancies, and will probably become moody and aggressive. However, spaying eliminates or reduces the behavioural problems, and prevents the possibility of your pet developing these fatal cancers. Male rabbits benefit from being neutered, too. Boy bunnies have gained a somewhat unfortunate reputation for being 'bruisers', but if they are neutered, they will be less likely to fight. Neither will the operation affect your rabbit's personality - except for perhaps making them calmer and easier to live with, both for you, and any rabbit companions they may have. Neutered rabbits have a much more laid-back attitude, and are much less likely to bite or scratch their owners, or attack even when a hand is put inside their cage or hutch, or be destructive in the home.

    37. Rabbit Care For Pet Rabbits From Petplanet.co.uk
the british rabbit councils advice on pet rabbit care during the winter months at petplanet.co.uk. Looking after your rabbit in winter
    http://www.petplanet.co.uk/petplanet/health/rabbits_winter_care.htm
Looking after your rabbit in winter Now is the time to think about your outside bunnies and make them as comfortable as you can over the winter months. Here are some tips from The British Rabbit Council. Rabbits, like many other animals, find winter tough. They do not hibernate and they will rely on their owners for survival. Even though Mother Nature will supply them with a warm winter coat, a little extra thought will be needed. These tips will help your readers help their pet rabbit, Britain's third most popular pet. Bedding must be clean and dry at all times. Wet bedding could freeze! Keep an old towel for your rabbit and gently dry him if he gets unexpectedly wet. Rabbits do not like draughts, especially at night. If his hutch is outside, make sure it is fitted with a rain and wind proof cover for bad weather and night time. It should hang down over the front but it should allow a little air for ventilation. However, a rabbit will thrive with its hutch outside or in a garden shed, even in harsh conditions - no need to bring the hutch into the living room! If the hutch has an outside run onto grass or concrete, close it off until spring arrives.
