Many wildlife species live in natural areas on private lands near the city or in the country. The Ecological Gifts Program offers private landowners (individuals or corporations) the possibility of taking concrete action to conserve a natural legacy by donating their land, or a partial interest in their land, to a qualified recipient.
By making an ecogift, donors ensure that the ecological features of their land will be preserved in perpetuity. The ecological gift entitles landowners to a donation receipt and favourable income tax treatment.
