Christiane Amanpour Peter Arnett Homer Bigart Homer Bigart is regarded as one America's most accomplished war correspondents. A two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, he covered World War II and the Korean War for the New York Herald Tribune , and later spent six months in Vietnam for The New York Times . He was a member of the “Writing 69th,” the group of reporters selected to accompany Allied crews on bombing missions over Europe during World War II, and was well known among his peers for his willingness to put himself in harm's way. Later, in Korea and Vietnam, Bigart's tough, skeptical reporting and his lean, muscular prose set the benchmark for a younger generation of reporters, and helped to shape the critical brand of coverage that came to define the journalism of the late 1960s and 70s. To many of his peers, Homer Bigart was nothing short a legend, the quintessential "reporter's reporter." He died in 1991. Malcolm Browne Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Malcolm Browne began his professional career as a chemist. Drafted at the tail end of the Korean War, Browne was assigned to write for a military newspaper

Certain photographic images remain indelible in America's consciousnessJack Ruby's assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald, a Vietnamese girl running toward a camera with her body burned by napalm, or American Marines hoisting the flag at Iwo Jima during World War II. These compelling, eyewitness images, which captured a moment in American history, are all past winners of the Pulitzer Prize in photography and will be featured among other Pulitzer photography winners in an upcoming exhibition at the NCSU Libraries. The exhibition, entitled The Pulitzer Prize Photographs: Capture the Moment , will run from September 19 through December 14, 2003, in the D. H. Hill Library. Cyma Rubin of the Business of Entertainment, Inc., an NC State alumna, curated the original exhibition in 2000. The traveling exhibition that will be shown at the Libraries has been updated by Rubin since then and features more than 120 Pulitzer photographs dating from 1942 to the present.

B IOPIC F ILMS B iopic F ilms (or biographical pictures ) are a sub-genre of the larger drama and epic film genres, and although they reached a hey-day of popularity in the 1930s, they are still prominent to this day. 'Biopics' is a term derived from the combination of the words "biography" and "pictures." These films depict and dramatize the life of an important historical personage (or group) from the past or present era. Sometimes, historical biopics stretch the truth and tell a life story with varying degrees of accuracy. Big-screen biopics cross many genre types, since these films might showcase a western outlaw; a criminal; a musical composer; a religious figure or leader of a movement; a war-time military hero; an entertainer; an artist; an inventor, scientist, or doctor; a politician or President; a sports hero or celebrity; or an adventurer. In many cases, these films put an emphasis on the larger events (wartime, political or social conditions) surrounding the person's entire life as they rise to fame and glory. Some begin with the person's childhood, but others concentrate on adult achievements. Biopics have existed since the earliest days of silent cinema in films such as French filmmaker Georges Melies' feature-length epic Jeanne D'Arc (1899) (and Cecil B. DeMille's
