Welcome to the Quebec Writers' Federation The Quebec Writers' Federation (QWF) was created in 1998 to represent the interests of English language writers living in Quebec, and to promote and encourage our literary arts in the community. How do we do that? By organizing an annual literary awards ceremony with thousands in prize money; by communicating with all levels of government; by increasing public awareness of literary arts and institutions through public activities; and by encouraging dialogue between anglophone and francophone literary communities. QWF grew out of the strong roots put down by the Federation of English Writers of Quebec (FEWQ) and the Quebec Society for the Promotion of English Language Literature (QSPELL). Most of all, the Quebec Writers' Federation is you. We're always ready to welcome any new members.

" African Canadian literature is a wonderful mixture of the words of those born here, and those who have come. Often it is about change, and acts as a bridge between "here" (Canada) and "there" (where one comes from). It is this marriage of diversities that gives the literature of African Canadians its energy."
