Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
General information on CPD from Lead Tutor Dr. Stephen Chadwick
As the new Lead dental tutor I see my main role as ensuring continuing professional development (CPD) is available for all the dentists working in primary care in the Mersey Region. I hope colleagues find the courses that have been organized by our dental tutor team useful. We have covered a wide range of topics from acupuncture to X-rays and speakers from a variety of backgrounds. We have General Dental Practitioners running training workshops as well as colleagues from Community, Hospital and Academia all playing their part. As many of you know the amount of money available for section 63 training is under enormous pressure and this means difficult decisions must be made balancing one course against another. This year, as I qualified from Liverpool in 1987, I fall in the band of dentists who registered between the 1st of January 1980 and the 31st of December 1989. In order to remain on the register I must undertake

Mission Statement
The mission of the Professional Development Center (PDC) is to provide high quality professional development to school teachers and administrators in north central Massachusetts. Its philosophy of professional development has evolved since its founding from the identification and provision of enrichment activities and training workshops for teachers to the strategic planning of school restructuring initiatives with member school districts along with the facilitation and implementation of those initiatives in order to affect systems through working with individuals.

To summarize, you will earn a professional development certificate of completionand, though fellow students and instructors, build your network of business
http://www.pdc.pdx.edu/projman/faqs.shtml
What's the difference between the two certificates? The project management certificate is intended for new and experienced project managers who either have had no formal education in project management, limited training, or want a comprehensive refresher on project essentials. Most program participants have some experience as project managers, though newcomers to the field can benefit tremendously from the program. The advanced certificate is intended for experienced project managers who have completed our main program or an equivalent. Advanced offerings assume you already have strong planning, management, and team leadership skills. You should also be familiar with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and its methodology, the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The goal of the advanced program is to delve more deeply into specific subject areas such as risk management, procurement, quality management, and cost estimating, with special attention to how these subjects are covered in the PMBOK. I'm an experienced project manager. Should I skip ahead to the advanced program?
