Appeals tell the court that you do not agree with it. An appeal is a request to a higher court for the rehearing or review of your case. You can appeal against your conviction and/or your sentence. Ask staff.
  • You may appeal your case if you feel you should not have been convicted;
  • If you feel your sentence is too long;
  • If you were not represented by a lawyer;
  • If you entered a plea of guilt, and did not have a lawyer;
  • If you feel you were unfairly treated or did not understand the procedure of the court;
  • If you were denied rights provided by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
You have thirty ( 30) days to let the court know you want to appeal.

Criminal Justice Technology
(Total 64 Credit Hours) Program Goal: To prepare students for employment in the field of law enforcement, corrections or crime scene investigation and the to meet the needs of persons employed in those fields who wish to advance in their respective professions. The students wanting to transfer with juror level standing as a criminology criminal justice major should follow the university parallel program.
Students are eligible to be officially enrolled in this program after enrolling in a course which begins with the prefix CCJ, CJC, CJE, CJL or CJT. Applications for Admission are to be completed in the Office of Technology and Professional Programs Division. GENERAL EDUCATION
(15 Credit Hours)
Students may take these courses at any time during their program of study.
ENC 1101 College Composition (3)
ENC 1102 Argument and Persuasion (3)
Math - Select one of the following:
MAT 1033 Intermediate Algebra (or higher level)

Social Science - Select one of the following: (3) SYG 1000 Principles of Sociology (3) SYG 2230 Race and Minority Relations SYG 2430 Marriage and Family PSY 2012 General Psychology or (3) HSC 1100 Concepts of Positive Living PROGRAM CORE COURSES (18 Credit Hours) Degree requires the following 18 core house plus the 28 hours in either law enforcement, corrections or crime scene investigation track listed below. Please consult the Course Description section of the Catalog for Prerequisites.
