It has been in operation since 1981. The school is presently located in the Givens Community Center. Karen Nelson is the director of the program. She has a BS and MA in Educ. from Seattle University. She received her Montessori training from the St. Nicholas Training Center in London. She has completed training in advanced Montessori materials from the Montessori Teacher Preparation of Washington. She has taught public school in California. She has a Washington State Certificate. Georgia Gail-Taylor , our preschool teacher, received her IAPM Diploma for Montessori Teacher Training in Seattle. She was with us for 4 years (June of 93 to Aug. of 97) and we are happy to have her back with us. She has close to 30 years of experience in preschool and kindergarten programs. Judy Mischel has had Montessori training from the St. Nicholas Training Center. She has been with the school since it began in her home. She also teaches Spanish.
