Detailed notes about the key milestones in a child's development give parents and educators expert guidance on how to achieve the most from each activity. The fun and learning start with six adaptable activities that automatically adjust in difficulty level to the child's individual needs. In addition, more than fifty printable worksheets allow practice sessions to reinforce lessons taught.
An engaging, easy-to-use interface and stimulating activities will make these early learning programs an enjoyable and goal-directed activity for young kids who love playing on the computer.
Topics: Children learn their ABCs, numbers 1-20 and improve their logic skills in activities where they burst bubbles, count butterflies and follow a helicopter's puffy cloud trail as it forms letters in a powder blue sky.
superkids.com: "This simple, preschool program features six activities that introduce basic school skills to young learners. This program is the "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" of CD-ROM titles. Unlike many currently popular titles that feature fast-paced animation and detailed graphics, this title is slow and methodical in its presentation. Graphics and animation are attractive, but simple, as are the included characters...My First CD-ROM, Preschool not only offers preschoolers activities to drill their developing skills, it also provides clear explanations and simple instruction in each of the covered areas.”

Making the Most of Those Preschool Years
By Valerie Bendt
It is with some reservations that I use the word preschool in this article. The term presupposes two things: that there is a specific time at which education begins - 'pre' and that there is a specific place where education transpires - 'school.' However, I believe that education is a lifelong endeavor, and begins at birth, or possibly even before, as the child learns through many of his senses while yet in the womb. I also believe that while the entire creation is given to us as a place of learning, the best environment is a loving, caring home. So, in using the word preschool in this article I will borrow a commonly used term meaning the time prior to that where society believes we should send our children out of the home to 'school' to get an education.
Educational psychologists claim that more than half of a child's learning occurs during his first few years. These are important formative years that should not be neglected. But how do we teach our 'preschooler' or entertain him while teaching our older children. It is important that our 'preschooler' does not feel he is a burden or in the way. I know this is often difficult, because we do not have perfect children. My oldest daughter recently reminded me about the measures that we had to take to keep my son, Raymond, out of trouble during his preschool years.

Gymnastics Philosophy
Philosophy s a school we emphasize the individualized, self-paced learning of physical and social skills within all of our classes. Our programs provide experience to guide and stimulate the growth and development which leads to the "whole" person both physically and emotionally. We nurture learning traits which will carry over into other areas of life. All classes whether beginning or advanced, offer a "natural" outlet for the students individual skill and development. At AMERICAN , our teams give students the opportunity to receive special training which will help them reach their full potential in a safe and encouraging environment. At American Institute of Gymnastics we believe that... G ymnastics gives you special qualities. The sport of gymnastics has many hard and difficult skills which take a long time to master. Most people would never try it. Many, who try, give up after a while. Some fall, or make a mistake, and never try again. Others want to take this challenge… T hat is why we believe that you are special! This your joy. This is why you have such pride in yourself. Many gymnastic skills require a long time to learn. Much practice is needed. If you try to go too fast, you might get frustrated. So, you learn to practice slowly, day by day, step by step. It takes much patience, and you are learning what patience is all about. You are learning some other things also

Bike Licenses
All two-wheel bikes should be registered with the Village. There is a one-time fee of $1.00. The Police Department encourages registration of bicycles for the following reasons: (1) Many bike riders carry no identification when riding a bike. Police have found lost children and unconscious persons who have fallen from a bike and were able to identify them through a bike license; (2) If a bike had a license, it would not be included with the bicycles that will be sold to the highest bidder at a Western Springs auction. Many bicycles are recovered by the police and then auctioned after 6 months when the owners are not located; (3) Should a registered bike be stolen, the police would have the serial number to put into a nationwide police computer. Also, a recovered bike could be returned to the owner due to the bicycle license enabling police personnel to contact the owner.
