124. Official Web Site For Direct Democracy And Human Rights
PGOV is the Triple Law campaign, to prohibit money for political campaigns; to monitor to protect public office; to allow people to repeal any law. Candidates will campaign primarily for a triple law on government , will resign when the triple law is passed, and be uncorrupted by avoiding and opposing private media for election publicity. Opposes corrupt and fraudulent democracy. PGOV espouses direct democratic and anarchist or libertarian and antiwar principles, but throws some odd statements into the immigration and religion topics!
http://pgov.org/
home who we are about this site links
Our goal: to help all living things on earth and not be in charge of some food drive, fund raiser or another corporate media source acting as "for the people" If you are new to this, and you only read parts of this web site, you may get an impression that we are racists, conspiracy theorists or just people without jobs and nothing better to do - none of those 3 is true. Biggest deception: media . Government and media now work as a team: They understand that if media were only to push pro government agenda, all of us would quickly lose faith in them considering them bias and therefor it would lose its' power to manipulate elections. So media criticises government (when it matters little or none to their agenda) - Media plays a government watcher so we can relax and put our trust in them making sure government is in check. - They will expose and even fabricate to expose hypocricy of politicians. this serves one important purpose: we are convinced that media and government are two absolutely different players. but they're not: All media needs to do to make their team win is, when election time comes, suggest to us viewers who is standing where in the public opinion polls, and like a lifeform given oxygen, their chosen candidate survives and gets elected by us.

Bush Ratings Fall Amid Iraq Woes

"The public is just very unhappy with what has happened in the war. We are talking about perceptions of the war that are akin to the public’s perception on Vietnam, or lower."

(CBS) Analysis by David Paul Kuhn, CBSNews.com Chief Political Writer President Bush's overall approval rating has fallen to the lowest level of his presidency, 44 percent, in the latest CBS News poll, reflecting the weight of instability in Iraq on public opinion, despite signs of improvement in the economy. Two weeks ago, 46 percent of Americans approved of the job President Bush was doing. On April 9, his approval rating was 51 percent. American's opinion of Mr. Bush's handling of the economy is also at an all-time low, 34 percent, while 60 percent disapprove, also a high of the Bush presidency. Increasing employment is seemingly not affecting Americans' view of Mr. Bush's economic policy. Just as startling, the poll finds that for the first time a clear majority of Americans disapprove of Mr. Bush’s handling of the war in Iraq, believe the United States is not in control of the country and think U.S. troops should turn over power to Iraq as soon as possible, even if the country is unstable.

Furor over Bush's 9/11 ad By MAGGIE HABERMAN in New York
amd THOMAS M. DeFRANK in Washington
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS Film grab from President Bush's new campaign ad. 'After 3,000 people were murdered on his watch, it seems to me that that takes an awful lot of audacity. Honestly, it's in poor taste.' - Kristen Breitweiser, with her husband's ring. The Bush reelection campaign yesterday unveiled its first three campaign commercials showcasing Ground Zero images, angering some 9/11 families who accused President Bush of exploiting the tragedy for political advantage. "It's a slap in the face of the murders of 3,000 people," said Monica Gabrielle, whose husband died in the twin tower attacks. "It is unconscionable." Gabrielle and several other family members said the injury was compounded by Bush's refusal to testify in open session before the 9/11 commission. "I would be less offended if he showed a picture of himself in front of the Statue of Liberty," said Tom Roger, whose daughter was a flight attendant on doomed American Airlines Flight 11. "But to show the horror of 9/11 in the background, that's just some advertising agency's attempt to grab people by the throat." Mindy Kleinberg said she was offended because the White House has not cooperated fully with the commission and because of the sight of remains being lifted out of Ground Zero in one of the spots.

134. Guardian Unlimited | The Guardian | Government Hunts For A Compromise
Michael White, political editor. If passed by both Houses of Parliament, which are as divided as the wider public, the hunting bill would ban hare coursing and staghunting while protecting angling and shooting as well as falconry. Ratting with terrier packs and rabbiting will be allowed under the bill, not least because alternatives such as poisoning and trapping are deemed more cruel. Rats are a threat to people and livestock, ministers point out.

Arik Hesseldahl
02.12.04, 12:00 PM ET
NEW YORK - Former British Prime Minister Harold Wilson once said, "A week is a long time in politics."
Indeed, as we've seen with the Democrats' current primary process in the U.S., much can change in a week or a month. A week is also a long time for bloggersthose hearty Internet pundits who constantly update Web-based diaries on every topic under the sun. It is an election year, after all, and many political junkies have put into blogs their passion for debate and discussion on every subtle feint and thrust of the rhetorical swordplay between candidates.
If it sometimes seems there are more political opinions than voters, bloggers are only making it more so. And while most of it is dross barely worthy of attention, some bloggers are getting noticed. We've picked five that we think are the best.
