In March 1999, a meeting was held to gauge interest in the establishment of an Anglican school in the Port Macquarie area. An Interim School Council was formed and a Feasibility Report prepared and presented to Bishop Philip Huggins in November 1999. Following extensive research in 2000 a suitable site was selected. Contracts were signed and the DA presented to Hastings Council in April 2001. Approval was gained on June 18 and earthworks commenced in August. Construction of Stage 1 buildings was unfortunately delayed and the school opened in St Thomas' Church Hall and meeting rooms on 29th January 2002 with 76 students and 7 full time staff. On 25th February the school relocated to its completed Stage 1 buildings and at present has more than 90 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 7. the School is now preparing for its second year under the watchful eye of Foundation principal Mr Chris Pitt BEd MA and is anticipating an enrolment of approximately 200 students in 2003. the school will proceed to year 12 in 2007 and eventually accommodate approximately 1000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Comment: Hi, I wonder if there are softwares that can format the computer without losing any data? Report Offensive Message For Removal Response Number 1 Name: ocel Date: July 02, 2003 at 15:06:21 Pacific Homepage: OCEL Subject: Format computer without losing data Reply: Hmmmm - what would be the point - the whole point of a format is to remove all data off of the drive, do you mean so you can save specific data? If so your best bet is to create another partition (using a program like Partition Magic) to back up all the data you wish to save format the partition you would like to remove the data from then reinstall an OS and copy the files back over - then you can merge the partitions back again. Regards Alex.

Our School Can Achieve Results March 2004 - Issue 27 CALUM IS TOP PERFORMER IN SCOTLAND
We are delighted to announce that one of our pupils, Calum Gruer, has just been declared the top performer in the Higher Economics Examination (2003 diet). In recognition of this achievement, the Scottish Business Education Association is to present Calum with an award at its Annual Conference for Teachers in Perth on 22nd May. This is a great tribute to his Economics Teacher, Colin Spence, who has now had two top performers in his subject. In 2001, Sam Bird won the coveted position. Eighteen year-old Calum has been accepted to study Economics at York University in October. He is extremely well organised, conscientious, and respected by his peers. In 2001 he achieved eight Standard Grades (band 1). In 2003 he achieved 5A passes at Higher. He was dux of the school in June 2003 and became Depute Head Boy of the school. In his five years at Culloden Academy he has served faithfully in the Pupil Council. TALKING OF EXAMS...

    Stage fright-airbrush madness
Submitted by Travis on 6/4/99. Well guys I`ve been working on a 22 and 1/2 bass for the last 5 days.
I don`t know how many hours I got in this critter but it`s a bunch...
by far my best bass ever...course I`ve only done 10 bass..he he he. The deal is
we have our Kansas show comming up in 3 weeks and I really want to
make this bass shine...all shrinkage has been rebuilt, dorsal fin was totally
rebuilt, tounge has a hour of work into it alone, all scales that
The part that every newbie fears-screwing the whole thing up with a ugly
paint job....he he he... Up till now I`ve always new my paint scheme was a little
on the dark side...I really want to lighten things up...Customers
have been happy with the paint jobs in the past but I know I can do better. Here are the steps I`ve done in the past: Light black on any repair work.
Light black spraying from the rear forward down to the laterial line. Med green behind the black on a frontal spray pattern...off white on the belly, chrome pear on the belly. Very light shot of yellow going down to the belly and the side of the fish.

    No Filthy PICTs For Hashers
By Martin Minow, Arlington, MA Note: Source code files accompanying article are located on MacTech CD-ROM or source code disks.
    Introduction
    The Application
I used code from Tech Note 154 to write the PICT reader. It works by substituting a private procedure for the function QuickDraw uses to access the contents of a PICT resource. My function just reads the information from the input file. This worked fine, except for one tiny problem: the t-shirt was digitized at 300 dpi but the picture frame assumed a 72 dpi (screen resolution) universe. When my program read the data, it threw away a lot of information. After reading the picture, the user can set the threshold and start the cleanup process. When it completes, the application writes the picture into a PICT file. You can then use a drawing program to touch-up the picture. CleanPICT took care of the small fluff so you can use your judgement to remove larger clumps. Figure 1 shows the result of applying the CleanPict algorithm to a small piece of the club logo:
    The Cleanup Algorithm
[we understood it, but felt an example with figures would help.-ed]:

Special to MacTutor Andrew Singer Think Technologies Let me take this opportunity to bring all of our MacTutor fans up to date on Lightspeed C and Pascal relative to the Macintosh II. We have been working very hard to get both products up to speed with both the new Macs and the new operating system.
Surprise! Everything you knew is now wrong, again!
    Last Minute Changes by Apple
    Hurry up and wait
    Lightspeed C
The current version of Lightspeed C, 2.01, runs under system 4.1 on the Mac II but has some problems with the glue routines for the new system features. We have received the beta glue routines from Apple, the same as those being shipped with MPW and we are preparing interfaces to them for LS C. A new beta version of LS C with the new library interfaces will ship within a week. This upgrade utility will make LS C 100% Mac II compatible. The upgrade will be posted on Compu-Serve (it was posted the day this issue went to press) and will be available through our dealers, including MacTutor. Incidentally, these new routines have very little resemblance with Inside Mac Volume 5, so beware. Apple really needs to upgrade Volume 5 so that it reflects reality!

These are all the diary pages on a row. As I take time, I'll add subheadings and comments, and maybe throw in tags to jump to sub-subjects. Note that I've (aug 2001) added text to all the page references. At Nov 17, 2001, I've replaced the xoom and later nbci based files by tripod copies, because that site seems down. Most links and pictures should be fine, but it might be some deeper links are corrupted. All files should be on, though. Sunday, March 10 2002, I think I've made this list work neatly again, everything should be a click away, also the older pages with pictures.
