Download any of ten free interactive programs on philosophy including ones on ethics, art, law, politics, religion, human nature and the general history of ideas.
http://www.theplayofmind.com
The Play of Mind: Software on the History of Ideas This site is for anyone interested in philosophy or the history of ideas. You can download any of ten interactive offered, ranging from easy to challenging. The programs are free and can be run in any Windows system - from 95 to XP. The Forbears programs are basic and relatively effortless introductions to the history of ideas. You are shown what some great thinkers have said on a variety of issues under the general topic (philosophy, ethics, politics or America). You are also asked to choose those quotes you most agree with and in return the program analyzes your choices and displays a graph of your "philosophical proclivities." Download Forbears Programs The Bull Session programs are computerized meetings or clashings of mind yours included. The final product will be a dialogue where you are discussing several difficult questions with thinkers from around the world and throughout time. Because you have to actually write your responses, the four programs here (on art, religion, law and humanity) are more demanding than the Forbears programs. Download Bull Session Programs The two Tree Owls programs (one on European philosophers, the other on American) are challenging introductions to the history of ideas. You are shown some of the most pivotal and provocative ideas of some of the most important thinkers. You are also asked to indicate to what extent you agree with them, and graphs will be periodically displayed based on your responses.

History of Philosophy
Wave Structure of Matter (WSM) Explains / Solves Historical Problems of Philosophy
Greek philosophy seems to begin with a preposterous fancy, with the proposition that water is the origin and mother-womb of all things. Is it really necessary to stop there and become serious? Yes, and for three reasons: firstly, because the preposition does enunciate something about the origin of things; secondly, because it does so without figure and fable; thirdly and lastly, because it contained, although only in the chrysalis state, the idea :everything is one. ..That which drove him (Thales) to this generalization was a metaphysical dogma, which had its origin in a mystic intuition and which together with the ever renewed endeavors to express it better, we find in all philosophies- the proposition: everything is one!
INHERITED FAULTS OF PHILOSOPHERS. All philosophers have the common fault, that they look upon man as a thing unchangeable in all commotion, as a sure standard of things. But everything that the philosopher says about man is really nothing more than testimony about man of a very limited space of time. A lack of the historical sense is the hereditary fault of all philosophers.

General Hospital - History
The General Hospital was founded in 1898 by the Grey Sisters of the Cross from Ottawa. Taking their inspiration from their foundress, Marguerite d'Youville, their mission was to serve the poor and sick. General Hospital circa 1926 The Sault Ste. Marie town fathers had turned to the Grey Sisters on the advice of the provincial Inspector of Asylums and Prisons who urged them, "If you wish a hospital of which the work is serious and lasting, ask the Grey Sisters ." They began their work first in a house on Bay Street, then in a newly-constructed 80 bed hospital at the present Queen Street location. In 1926, ownership was transferred to the Pembroke-based

Cognitive Science
Cognitive science is the interdisciplinary study of mind and intelligence, embracing philosophy, psychology, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, linguistics, and anthropology. Its intellectual origins are in the mid-1950s when researchers in several fields began to develop theories of mind based on complex representations and computational procedures. Its organizational origins are in the mid-1970s when the Cognitive Science Society was formed and the journal Cognitive Science began. Since then, more than sixty universities in North America and Europe have established cognitive science programs and many others have instituted courses in cognitive science.
1. History
Attempts to understand the mind and its operation go back at least to the Ancient Greeks, when philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle tried to explain the nature of human knowledge. The study of mind remained the province of philosophy until the nineteenth century, when experimental psychology developed. Wilhelm Wundt and his students initiated laboratory methods for studying mental operations more systematically. Within a few decades, however, experimental psychology became dominated by
