The Husserl Seminar Announcements and Projects New Researches in Human Understanding - Summer Schools in Phenomenological Philosophy
Edmund Husserl
Established in 1966 in memory of Alfred Schutz, The Husserl Archives at the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science is a research center for phenomenology and phenomenological philosophy under the direction of the Department of Philosophy. The center is in possession of a collection of transcriptions of Edmund Husserl’s unpublished writings, currently located in the Raymond Fogelman Library . The purpose of the Husserl Archives is to promote and facilitate research in the work of Husserl in particular and phenomenological philosophy generally. The activities of the center will include the organization of small research groups, summer schools, and seminars composed of international students and scholars working on a variety of projects in or related to phenomenological philosophy.
Alfred Schutz Resources and Access The Husserl Archives at the New School is currently in the process of updating its collection of transcriptions of Husserl's unpublished works. A searchable database is also being developed that will enable researchers to determine whether a given manuscript has already appeared in Husserliana or whether a transcription is available.

THE PHENOMENOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF LJUBLJANA The Phenomenological Society of Ljubljana was founded in 1990 on the initiative of Dean Komel, Tine Hribar, Ivan Urbaneie and Andrina Tonkli-Komel. The main goal of the society is to develop the phenomenological and hermeneutic philosophy and to promote philosophical discussions on culture and science. Its first president was Ivan Urbaneie. In 1996 he was succeeded by the former vice-president and organiser Dean Komel. Since 1991 the Phenomenological Society has been publishing its own book collection and journal entitled Phainomena. In 1996 a hermeneutic-phenomenological student section was formed within the framework of the Phenomenological Society. The society has been co-operating with numerous individuals as well as institutions from abroad working in the field of phenomenology and hermeneutics.
Activities of the Phenomenological Society:
  • development of phenomenological and hermeneutic philosophy, philosophy of religion, history of philosophy, philosophy of culture, philosophy of art, theory of science, philosophy of politics organization of lectures and philosophical symposia in the field of philosophy research on the Slovene phenomenological tradition - France Veber (1890-1975) and Du¹an Pirjevec (1921-1976) publication of the journal and book collection Phainomena translation of philosophical works, especially from the field of phenomenology and hermeneutics
