Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Awards
Specific information regarding guidelines for awards will be sent via email to the undergraduate student body. The deadline for the following awards is November 1st.
American Institute of Chemical Engineers Award (also known as the Professional Promise Award)
Seniors must nominate other seniors in AIChE for this award which is granted to students that have excellent academic records and also have internship, coop, and/or research experience that will make them successful in their career after graduation. Consider this as a "most likely to succeed" type of award rather than one based strictly on performance in school.
  • Senior student members of AIChE nominate other seniors. Seniors then vote by email for the finalists and the faculty approves.
    Bashioum Award
This award is given to the student that has provided service to the department in the form of developing the student chapter of AIChE and its activities and helping the department or the freshman program. Dr. Bashioum was the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Chairman form 1919-1938.
