This is our 30th Anniversary! The Lithopolis Area Fine Arts Association (LAFAA) continues to bring a varied cultural program series to the area served by the Wagnalls Memorial Library. LAFAA was founded in 1973 to encourage the development of visual and performing arts in our community. Over the years it has sponsored art exhibitions, art festivals, awards to local artists, films from the classics, the annual Performing Arts Series, and Artists in the Schools workshops. The series programs and workshops have included light and serious drama, dance groups, mime, a puppeteer and a wide variety of musical events ranging from the classical to bluegrass. In this Ohio Bicentennial Year, the Performing Arts Series will feature performers with an Ohio connection, and works of art by a few of our local artists will be on exhibit. The artwork will be displayed in the Museum section of the Wagnalls Memorial during library hours in the week preceding and following each series event. The Association is administered by a Governing Board of fifteen to twenty-five members elected from within the community. Programs are presented at the
