Percussion Instruments BANDAYR The word probably derived from late Latin "Pandorium", a variant of "Pandura", adopted from the Greek "Pandurion" and "Pandura", designating a kind of lute with three strings. The word was later used for instruments of different origins. The Bandayr which belongs to the noise making instruments, is a large circle of wood with strings of goatgut stretched inside it.
