SECTION I. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Pennsylvania (PA) Consortium, three Pennsylvania institutions of higher education, University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania State University, and Lincoln University, formed a collaborative partnership to establish academic linkages with the University of the North in the Northern Province of South Africa. The main goal of the academic linkage program is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the University of the North to deliver quality service, improve teaching and learning and to conduct appropriate research to improve the quality of life in the Northern Province and South Africa. Combining their energies so that a broad span of complementary programs and faculties are available to the University of the North will allow all four institutions to: Serve the citizens of our respective regions by providing an education that will provide opportunities for students to become more productive members in society.
