Hollow Park on Hollow Road and Orenaug Park on Park Road, are opened to 6 a.m. to one hour after sunset.
Hollow Park has fields for softball, baseball, soccer and football as well as a river walk along the Pomperaug river. The swimming area is open from mid-June to the end of August. Swimming lessons are offered to children four-years-old and up. Family swim memberships are available. Hollow Park has a covered pavilion, picnic tables, a basketball court, sand volleyball and various playscapes.
Assignment of the use of the Hollow Park's ball fields is through the Park and Recreation office at (203) 263-3113. Reservations for the use of the Hollow Park pavilion, concession building and the North Green gazebo are also assigned through the Park and Recreation office. Orenaug Park has a trail from Park Road and a trail from behind the town library. Both end at the observation tower. General Program Information
The Parks and Recreation department offers a summer recreation program to children in grades kindergarten through eight which run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for six-weeks. The program offers field trips, arts and crafts, games, special events, transportation to Hollow Pond once weekly pizza day and various other special days.

At best the current bill being debated in Parliament will drastically reduce the number of hunts and therefore the number of point-to-points.

Parks and Facilities
Cumberland County Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of leisure activities, programs and facilities. The department serves the county's unincorporated area with a diverse population, and programs activities for all ages. These include youth and adult athletics, youth sports lessons, recreational classes for youth and adult, youth summer program, youth cheerleading program, and an organized Senior Citizen program. The Parks and Recreation Department's Administrative Offices are located at Arnette Park, 2165 Wilmington Highway, 1 mile off Martin Luther King Expressway (Highway 87), exit 100. Judy Johnson, Mark Lovrien, Joel Staloch, Joseph Shorin, Grant Larsen, and Bernie Chaplin, and Jon Halvorson. These members are appointed by the County Commissioners for six year terms. The Parks and Recreation Department (TCPRD) provides a diverse variety of recreational opportunities and program services to meet the needs of Thurston County citizens. Of the department’s 25 regional park sites, which account for approximately 2,800 acres of property and 42.5 miles of recreational corridors for trails, Burfoot Park near Boston Harbor Kenneydell Park on Black Lake, and Frye Cove Park on Eld Inlet are developed and open for public use. Construction of a trail system is underway. (Click on this blue-colored text for the most up-to-date information). The Chambers Lake Trailhead, located on Elizabeth Avenue in Olympia, provides parking, picnic areas, boat launch facilities, fishing, restroom facilities and other amenities for users of trails. Picnic shelters are available at each of the developed parks and reservations are encouraged and accepted on a first come, first serve basis for group gatherings.
