Over the last decade, the City of Palmdale has spent over $20 million on park development. The City works diligently to provide its residents with quality parks, recreation, educational and cultural opportunities.
Palmdale property owners approved an assessment to build and maintain new parks and recreation facilities. The assessment will provide $30 million for the estimated $41 million project. For more information on the assessment, click here. Each year the City presents its annual award-winning Palmdale Fall Festival during the second weekend in October. Festival guests enjoy food, arts and crafts, fine arts and headliner entertainment. For more information about the Palmdale Fall Festival, click here. In addition to the festival, the City offers a Starlight Concert Series during three weekends each summer. This popular series attracts over 25,000 people each year. The City of Palmdale currently maintains 37 parks, playgrounds, natural resource areas and special use facilities in the community and continues to plan new developments for the thousands of children and adults who play in Palmdale.

Phone: 375-3057 Fax: 375-3088 The Department of Parks and Recreation provides the citizens of Salem with year-round programs and activities, which are geared for all ages. Programs are divided into: Senior Citizens Center, James Moyer Sports Complex, Adult Sports, Youth Sports, Community Activities and Special Events. The programs are operated with a full-time staff of 14 and a number of part-time people such as field maintenance workers, instructors, game officials, summer special event workers, summer interns, sports clinic leaders and volunteer coaches. If there are any other programs you would like to add, please call 375-3057. Great Beginnings is a six-week instructional program targeted to four, five and six year olds. The goal of this program is to help prepare young children for the challenges of organized sports in a non-threatening atmosphere without the worry of competition. The
