PALESTINE:
History, Case and Solution
The "Palestinian Question" has been the focus of media attention, on and off, for the past 47 years. By signing a mutual agreement, arresting activists, portraying the situation as 'solved', and pushing the events and conditions of the Palestinian people to the back page, the world Governments and media thought they could make us forget the sufferings of our people, the usurption of our land, and the injustice of non Believers. The history books have always depicted the Ottomans as womanisers, and Palestinians as terrorists. The accurate history of the Paletininian situation is now revealed in Nida'ul Islam's special report.
HISTORY
The Islamic success The first to liberate Palestine through the holy house was the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w). This was on the night of the night Journey (Isra`) and ascension (mi'raj) when he (s.a.w) led the prayer of all the prophets in the Farthest Mosque (Almasjid AlAqsa). The first military expedition to liberate the land of Damascus was the army which was prepared by the Prophet (s.a.w) under the leadership of Usama Bin Zayd (r.a.a) as was the one sent by Abu Bakr AlSiddiq (r.a.a.) after the death of the Prophet (s.a.w). However, this army returned to support the Khalifa in the battle of the apostates after it had reached the borders of East Jordan and achieved victory there.

Around 4000 BC, the Canaanites, a Semitic people from the inner Arabian peninsula, settled in the land which became known as Canaan and later, Palestine. The Jebusites, one of the Canaanite peoples, built a settlement that they called Urusalim (Jerusalem), meaning ‘the city of peace’.
The Egyptian Pharaohs occupied part of Canaan in 3200 BC, building fortresses to protect their trade routes, but the country kept its independence. Around 2000 BC, another Semitic people, Abraham's Hebrews, passed through Palestine on their way south. Seven centuries later, twelve Hebrew tribes returned from Egypt, following Moses. There was fierce fighting over possession of
the land. The Bible records that ‘The sons of Judah were unable to exterminate the Jebusites that dwell in Jerusalem’ (Joshua 15, 63).
Four centuries later, Isaac's son David managed to defeat the Jebusites and unite the Jewish nation. After the death of his son Solomon the Hebrews split into two states, Israel and Judah. These later fell into the hands of the Assyrians, in 721 BC, and Chaldeans, in 587 BC. It was in 587 that Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem and took the Jews into captivity in Babylon.

Historical overview
The term Palestine originates with the Philistines , who inhabited the southern coast of the region in biblical times. The name appears to have been in continuous use from that time to the present. The Philistines were defeated in about 1000BC, but the Greek historian Herodotus writing 500BC, and believing himself to be writing nine centuries after Moses, referred to seemingly the entire eastern coast of the Mediterannean as Palestinian Syria. The Roman historian, Pliny the elder, writing before the first Jewish revolt also referred to this region as Palestine, though at the time that he wrote none of the official Roman names for regions in this area was "Palestine", and in this sense the name was no longer used. The name Palestine was officially reintroduced by the Romans following the second Jewish revolt of Bar Kokhba of A.D in the province of

Decline Started in 1882
The heyday of Palestine was before the year 1882 when the Nickel Plate railroad went through south of the village a mile or so and the town of Burket came into existence. The early 80's marked the beginning of the decline of the village as a trading center. In the early 90's some of the frame store buildings were still standing on the west side of the main street. They have long since disappeared and for years only one store has been located there and it is on the east side of the street. During the 60's and 70's the village was a live place where there were grocery stores, drug stores, a saloon, a blacksmith shop, a doctor's office and a postoffice. During these days means of communication and travel were quite primitive so that a trip into Palestine on horseback or in the buggy took as much time as a trip would now take if the part went to the county seat.

Thriving Village in 1870's
It would be interesting to talk to an oldtimer who as a boy played on the main streets of Palestine during the 70's. At that time Ezra Uplinger had a general merchandise store there and sold liquors. The selling of wines and spirituous liquors in general stores was then common over the county. Adam Horn had a drug and grocery store. These were the days of real drug stores when a doctor could find there such medicines as he needed. Henderson and Ward were running the grist mill at this time. J. W. Heffley and F. M. Pearman were two local physicians. These were subject to a hard life during the winter months. Many a person in need of immediate medical attention was forced to wait until some member of the family could ride into town for the doctor.

Following the appearance of anti-Semitism in Europe, Theodore Herzl, the founder of Zionism tried to find a political solution for the problem in his book, "The Jewish State". He advocated the creation of a Jewish state in Argentina or Palestine. First Zionist Congress (Basle, Switzerland) declared Palestine the Jewish Homeland. Participants developed a structure of government which could be transferred to Palestine at some future time, including the World Zionist Organization to link all Jews together, the Jewish National Fund to acquire land, a committee to manage finances, a political committee to govern the land. Fourth Zionist Congress decided to establish a national home for Jews in Argentina.

Jerusalem Forum Jerusalem News Articles ... Home History of Palestine The History of Palestine Introduction Palestine is an ancient country as much as the history of mankind can tell. Its East Mediterranean situation engendered this land’s first touch with the old great civilizations of Egypt and the Mesopotamia. Palestine lies at the routes linking three continents. This unique position as a geographical bridge between Asia, Africa and Europe rendered it to be opened land to the cultural and religious winds of Egypt, Syria and Mesopotamia. It is worthwhile to mention in this regard that Palestine location at a vintage point between these three Arab countries has determined its Arab identity from ancient times. If history itself is a coincidence, then one can make the right conclusion for the past and the future of Palestine as an Arab land. As a matter of fact the heart of the Arab world since Egypt, Iraq and Syria are the cornerstone of the Arab world. This happy historic coincidence, a self-speaking fact by itself, is of paramount significance to all interested people in bringing genuine peace to the land of peace. Furthermore, one can dare to say that this coincidence should be capable to large extent of telling the rest of the story of Palestine from time immemorial up to the present. It sheds enough light at history and how it had been shaped. With hindsight, it does not need a lot of effort to realize that Palestine’s present predicament is a case of struggle between the land’s owners and foreign invaders.

35. HISTORY OF THE PALESTINE PROBLEM
*. 19171947. The palestine problem became an international issue towards the end of the First World War with the disintegration of the Turkish Ottoman Empire.
http://www.un.org/Depts/dpa/ngo/history.html
The Palestine problem became an international issue towards the end of the First World War with the disintegration of the Turkish Ottoman Empire. Palestine was among the several former Ottoman Arab territories which were placed under the administration of Great Britain under the Mandates System adopted by the League of Nations pursuant to the League's Covenant (Article 22) . All but one of these Mandated Territories became fully independent States, as anticipated. The exception was Palestine where, instead of being limited to "the rendering of administrative assistance and advice" the Mandate had as a primary objective the implementation of the "Balfour Declaration" issued by the British Government in 1917, expressing support for "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people". During the years of the Palestine Mandate, from 1922 to 1947, large-scale Jewish immigration from abroad, mainly from Eastern Europe took place, the numbers swelling in the 1930s with the notorious Nazi persecution of Jewish populations. Palestinian demands for independence and resistance to Jewish immigration led to a rebellion in 1937, followed by continuing terrorism and violence from both sides during and immediately after World War II. Great Britain tried to implement various formulas to bring independence to a land ravaged by violence. In 1947, Great Britain in frustration turned the problem over to the United Nations.

Introductory Note
History, and different perceptions of history, are perhaps the most important factors in the Arab-Israeli conflict. Accounts of history, interpreting history in different ways, are used to justify claims and to negate claims, to vilify the enemy and to glorify "our own" side. Dozens of accounts have been written. Most of the accounts on the Web are intended to convince rather than to inform. This very brief account is intended as a balanced overview and introduction to Palestinian and Israeli history, and the history of the conflict. It is unlikely that anyone has written or will write an "objective" and definitive summary that would be accepted by everyone, but it is hoped that this document will provide a fair introduction.

As the periodic bloodshed continues in the Middle East, the search for an equitable solution must come to grips with the root cause of the conflict. The conventional wisdom is that, even if both sides are at fault, the Palestinians are irrational "terrorists" who have no point of view worth listening to. Our position, however, is that the Palestinians have a real grievance: their homeland for over a thousand years was taken, without their consent and mostly by force, during the creation of the state of Israel. And all subsequent crimes - on both sides - inevitably follow from this original injustice. This paper outlines the history of Palestine to show how this process occurred and what a moral solution to the region's problems should consist of. If you care about the people of the Middle East, Jewish and Arab, you owe it to yourself to read this account of the other side of the historical record.
