BIBLIOGRAPHY OF GENERAL WORKS IN MAMMALOGY
This bibliography is designed to guide beginning students in mammalogy to literature in specific areas. The works included are primarily monographic and of wide coverage. It is also a work in progress; I add new works and update editions when any such come to my attention. Note: This list has been compiled by scouring through curatorial offices and the library in the Department of Mammalogy at the American Museum of Natural History. It has been updated by perusing the new main library books borrowed by curators. I note the Museum's call number or the Library of Congress number on the back of the title page; these are not always the same, and I prefer the Museum Library's number. Several titles are taken from publisher's fliers and Choice cards; the pagination is not always correct for books that are yet to be issued, and they usually end in suspiciously round numbers. To recommend inclusion of additional works or to correct listings, please notify John H. Wahlert

The monster site for paleontology. This is definitely the first place to go to find about about the fossil history, biology, and systematics of plants and animals through geological time. We very highly recommend this site to everyone. Historical Geology Online Laboratory Manual . Pamela Gore. This is truly a great site. This online manual of historical geology covers many important topics. For example you will find sections on rocks and minerals, sedimentary rocks, relative dating and stratigraphy, invertebrate and microfossils, evolution, vertebrate evolution, and much more. Each section also has a series of laboratory exercises to go along with the explanatory material and illustrations. A wonderfully informative site and we highly recommend it. Historical Geology . Pamela Gore. Among the wonders of this web site are individual sections on each of the geological periods from the Cambrian to the Present. Each period is covered in outline form with information about major trends in the evolution of plants and animals and the major changes in paleogeography and plate tectonics. The site has also links to other paleontological sites on the web. Highly recommended.

If it hadn't been for my abysmal lack of ability in math, I probably would've become a scientist instead of a Romantic Lit major. As to what kind of science, I never had the opportunity to discover my alter milieu - I love several fields of hard science and several of (what are considered by some) the "softer" sciences. I have now broken these links down by category. Because of the inter-disciplinary nature of so much in the sciences these days, I thought it better to list some links in more than just one category. If you think any other link(s) belong in a different category, or definitely should be in more than one, please send me e-mail. I'd also like to know if you are aware of other good Science links I have missed. Thank you.
