Washington County, Oregon General Information about Washington County
The Community Washington County and the Portland metropolitan area are nationally recognized as one of the most livable areas in the country. Located on the western edge of the City of Portland, Washington County is the second largest and fastest growing urban county in Oregon, with approximately 460,000 citizens. The community is Oregon’s most ethnically diverse, drawing immigrants from Europe, Central and South America, Asia, Indo-China, the Pacific nations and Africa. The result of that diversity is that residents and institutions alike reflect a global perspective Washington County is 727 square miles and includes a portion of the City of Portland and eleven incorporated cities including Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard and Tualatin. Focused residential and industrial growth has enabled the county to preserve more than 75% of its agricultural and forestlands through utilization of the nationally acclaimed Urban Growth Boundary. Washington County residents are the youngest, most affluent, and most highly educated in Oregon. The community enjoys excellent schools, and a uniquely diverse array of cultural and recreational activities. Only an hour’s drive from the beach and mountains and less than a half-hour to downtown Portland, Washington County enjoys the benefits of a healthy urban and rural environment.

T here are many good mortgage calculators on line, so I won't try to duplicate here. An easy and convenient way to calculate mortgage payments is to use the calculator on the Complete MLS Searchable List page. When you have entered your search criteria and listings appear, just click on the house picture. The next page will contain all the information on that house and also a mortgage calculator. If you have any questions just give me a call or e-mail
If you would like to calculate mortgage payments and check how much a loan will cost over time you can go to www.calcbuilder.com/cgi-bin/calcs/HOM2.cgi/firsttech . This is offered by First Technology Credit Union and is fairly simple and quick to use.
I highly recommend using a local lender with a proven track record and knowledge of our local taxes and lending practices. Virtual lenders are often difficult to work with, sometimes unreliable and won't save you time or money. I have included a couple really good local lenders, who are available to answer any of your questions.

Oregon Attorney General
hits Electrodermal Testing
Stephen Barrett, M.D.
Oregon Attorney General Hardy Meyers has obtained a consent agreement under which two practitioners have agreed not to misrepresent that electrodermal testing (EDT) can diagnose food allergies, "weak organs," certain viruses, lead levels in children, and various other health problems. The stipulated judgment also requires the defendants to pay $15,000 for costs and to offer refunds to people they have tested during the past three years [1]. The Attorney General's complaint was filed November 15, 2001 against Monte Kline of Bellevue, Washington; Shirley Hancuff of West Linn, Oregon; and Pacific Health Center, Inc., an Oregon corporation. Hancuff, who had until 2000 directed operations at the West Linn clinic, is now owner/franchisee of that facility. Kline, who is president of Pacific Health Systems, owns two other similar clinics under that name in Washington and continues to operate the West Linn clinic. The company's Web site has stated: Pacific Health Center is a non-medical health practice working with natural healing methods from a Christian perspective. More specifically, we integrate biblical principles of health in body, mind and spirit with computerized Electro-Dermal Testing for nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, toxicities and other health factors [2].
