- from Citizen X In the Shadowlands of Ontario, located at the tip of lake by the same name, is a small Necropolis. Hamilton, having only about 318,000 population, and close to 600,000 in the larger Hamilton-Wentworth area, is an important Canadian city. It is both the industry might of Canada and the home of at least one major ley line nexus and a multitude of smaller ones. But this not all: it is also one of the last strongholds the Camarilla has in eastern Canada against the Sabbat, and it has an alliance almost never thought possible. What does this all have to with the Necropolis, you ask? This bizarre Awakened Alliance includes Mages, Kindred, Garou, and the Fae, but more importantly, the Guilds. This has created a strange fluctuation in the power of Hamilton's Shadowlands. Hamilton's main export is steel. And over the process of refining ores, some of the destroyed components will appear in the Shadowlands. This effect, discovered by the Artificers Guild, has given rise to a new alloy called Darksteel. Some is used to create Hamilton's own Machine Corps. But the local Hierarchy is not about to let the Guilds take over, no matter what toys or friends they might have...

Ontario Ontario is the second largest Canadian province (in terms of area) and can be found on the map between Manitoba and Quebec. Toronto is the capital city of Ontario. Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, is also in Ontario. Ontario joined the Canadian Confederation in 1867. Ontario includes part of "the Great Lakes". The Great Lakes consist of Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Ontario and Lake Superior. Lake Superior is the largest of the great lakes and also has the largest surface area of any freshwater lake in the world. The border between Canada (Ontario) and the United States runs through Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Lake Michigan is entirely in the United States. Environmental management of the Great Lakes is a joint effort between the two countries. You can find out a lot of interesting information about Ontario at http://www.gov.on.ca/

When you've located the town of Trenton, draw an imaginary line northward toward Bancroft. From Bancroft extend your imaginary line almost due easterly toward the City of Ottawa, our Nation's Capital, which is located on the Ottawa River. In a generalized sense, everything south and east of this imaginary line, between the Ottawa River on the north and the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario on the south are included in the area that we normally designate as eastern Ontario. The following Counties fall within the eastern Ontario area:

    http://142.51.17.253/jrp/nots/geograph.htm
What precisely is Northern Ontario? It's not easy to pin down, since there are a number of definitions floating about. However, the area delineated by the census divisions in the northern three-quarters of the province is generally accepted as the limits of the region. You can see a map of these regions (70k) by clicking on the icon at left , as well as check the most recent population statistics on these divisions.
Unlike the provinces themselves, Northern Ontario isn't a strongly defined region. In addition to the administrative definition of Northern Ontario's borders mentioned above, many people maintain their own definition of the region. Anecdotal boundaries include "anything north of Barrie", which is a bit of a stretch, unless you happen to live in Toronto. In addition to the cultural and administrative definitions, you could look at Northern Ontario as a separate physical region from the rest of the province. In all, there are a number of ways of defining Northern Ontario, all of which are probably valid. Despite the fuzziness of the line, there are differences between the northern and southern halves of the province. Why is this region distinct?
