Press, 2000 Perhaps the last social scientific discipline to engage evangelicalism has been anthropology. In a new book, University of Winnipeg religious studies professor Paul Bramadat offers the first ethnographical study of a distinctive form of evangelical community: the Christian student fellowship on a secular university campus. The Church on the World's Turf is based on Bramadat's doctoral dissertation at McMaster University, a major university located southwest of Toronto in Hamilton, Ontario. Bramadat studied the McMaster chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) for two extended periods: the fall term of 1994 and the entire academic year 1995-96. He attended most of the IVCF events and interviewed many of its leaders and rank-and-file members.     Heritage Preservation Services staff assist the Toronto Preservation Board (an advisory body comprised of five (5) citizens appointed through the City's Nominating Committee, the Chair of each community Preservation Panel and three (3) members of Council) in advising the City Council on matters stipulated in the Ontario Heritage Act .
    Listing and Designation
    The Inventory of Heritage Properties is a list of some 5,000 significant properties in the City of Toronto, approximately 1,300 of which are designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. The Ontario Heritage Act is the provincial legislation that enables municipalities to designate properties and districts of historical and architectural significance, referred to as Heritage Conservation Districts, in order to ensure their retention.

    Function
    The role of the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture was to encourage equal and responsible citizenship through programs emphasizing the participation of all Ontarians as equal members of the community. The Ministry also aimed to develop programs and services that would recognize cultural diversity and the sharing of cultural heritage, stimulate cultural expression and cultural preservation, and foster the development of individual and community excellence.
    Administrative History
    The Ministry of Citizenship and Culture was established on February 13, 1982 to take over the culture and citizenship functions of the Ministry of Culture and Recreation. The Ministry's programs and branches were organized into divisions, which included: the Arts, Heritage and Libraries Division (1982); the Culture and Regional Services Division (1983) which was divided to form the Culture Division (1984-1987) and the Regional Services Branch (1984-1987); the Multiculturalism and Citizenship Division (1982-1987); and the Finance and Administration Division (1982-1987).
