Neuhaus Education Center, founded in 1980, provides a proven, multisensory approach to teaching the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling to all students, including those students with language learning differences, especially dyslexia. The Center is a nonprofit foundation that serves as a center for professional development for educators and as a resource for parental consultation and adult education. Background
Neuhaus Education Center is a nonprofit educational foundation that serves primarily as a teacher-training institute, offering courses year-round to regular education and resource teachers, directors, and supervisors of curriculum. Its community service outreach includes parent seminars, parent consultations, a newsletter, a library, and adult classes in reading and spelling. Staff members also offer workshops on multisensory teaching techniques, discovery learning, and identification of learning differences. Neuhaus Education Center was formed in 1980 in memory of W. Oscar Neuhaus, who was instrumental in helping to establish a teacher-training center in Houston. The Center was created as a nonprofit organization which depends on grants, contributions, and tuition for its programming. Scholarship funds are available for students and teachers.

Internet Safety and Security
Children learning to use the internet find it exciting and filled with possibilities. As with any communication system, there is risk, and issues of safety and responsibility must to be addressed so that teachers and parents can be confident that the children are safe. Pornography, graphic violence and undesirable people exist on the net, as they do everywhere. Parents and teachers should control what a child may view, read, or hear, and with whom they are in contact on the web. The following links will provide guidance for parents and educators in keeping the internet a safe and educational place to play.
